Taxes time is coming...

Ok this question was probably asked before, but I honestly can't remember any of it because it was too early in the process to really pay attention to it.

I moved in 2007. I filed my Canadian/Quebec taxes for 2007 based on my canadian income/ EI income / US income with all those forms that we talked about.

Now for 2008.

I have absolutely no income from Canada, and I have no financial ties other than my student loan that I am still paying. I remember that for Provincial, if I didn't make anything I don't need to file with Quebec.

What about the federal taxes ??? Do I need to file anything with my income from here ? And if yes, until when do we have to file the Canadian taxes...

I am bad with taxes, always had an accountant doing it for me and I gave him quite a headache last year....now I wonder for this year

Thanks for the help

Wow. They're not wasting any time. I guess mine should be arriving shortly. :crying:

Yeah they sent mine to my Mom's house, even though I changed my address with them online weeks ago.

If you filed your leaving Canada return with CRA last year, you do not have to file this year. You are finished with them unless you decide to move back or get some source of Canadian income from a source that does not withhold the 25% nonresident tax from you (rental income is the main one). And we did get a tax package the following year that we filed the leaving Canada return. We immediately placed it into the recycle.
