I figured I would ask this here.. last time I asked in a different sub forum and didn't get anything back.

I take diazepam (valium) for panic attacks, which are now (thankfully) few and far between. I was wondering if this might be an issue at my medical. I'm not a danger to myself or others when I do occasionally suffer a panic attack, so could this be overlooked?

In 2005/some of 2006, I was unable to work for a while because it was very bad, I was under a lot of stress at the time/coping with a family loss and was on benefits until I got on my feet again. Should I mention this when asked about depression on the forms?

The examining doctor should have complete information on your health and your medications. If there is any reason to question your use of a tranquilizer, you have a good explanation.

You are coming to a country where only the everyday stresses of life make Americans the world's largest consumer per capita of psychoactive medications.

yea if you disclose it at the medical then you will need a letter from your doctor, i had my medical the day before my interview and when they asked if i had any history of depression i told them i had in the past. They then wouldnt approve me til that had all been cleared. so be prepared.:)
