Hi, i'm new to the site and you guys seem really helpful and expirence, please i need your advice. I have been to Nigeria three times in the last two years preceding my petition. In my first trip I met my fiancée, since then I went twice to spend time with her. During my last trip in sep.2008 we had an engagement ceremony which was big, but in my petition I did not inform them that we had an engagement party and I did not send engagement pictures. I sent only our casual pictures and plane ticket. I did not really know how it worked. Now I have copies of my boarding pass, passport pages of entry and exit, e-mails, phone logs and engagement pictures. The question is, in case of a RFE, should I tell them about the engagement ceremony and send the pictures too?

In case of an RFE, they will tell you what is lacking from your case. If they say you need to include more proof of a relationship, then yes, send pictures from the engagement ceremony, copy of the ring receipt (if you have one), copies of your passport pages, and copies of your boarding passes. E-mails and phone logs won't really be needed until her interview. Your I-129F is just to prove that you have met your fiancee and have plans to be married. Your fiancee's interview will be more thorough regarding the circumstances of your relationship and so on :)

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

Thanks buddy, let me do a search for the engagement ring receipt. Hope telling them now about the engagement will not cause suspicion.i also have copies of the invitation.

If you get an RFE, respond exactly as instructed. You can have the additional evidence of relationship bona fides available for the interview.

Right, i will send only what they ask for, but send every other evidence to my fiancee.Should my fiancee show them the other evidence or wait for them to ask her first. My thinking is that she waits for them to ask ,right?

Yep. Don't overthink the I-129F too much :) When your fiancee goes for her interview in 6 months or so (hopefully), they will ask questions and she will have to supply them with answers, that's all. Just try to relax and don't worry about things TOO far ahead of the game. There's no harm in getting things around for the interview and such, but don't worry about an RFE that may never come. You may have sent all the information they want, so worrying that you MIGHT receive an RFE is pointless and just gets you worked up and frustrated. :/ It's good to be ready for an RFE if it happens, but don't assume that you WILL get one because you'll drive yourself crazy trying to think of everything that you could have done incorrectly when you filed. Sit back, relax, and see how everything pans out in the next few months.

As the others said, an RFE will state specifically waht is needed and nothing else need be sent.

An engagement party is part of an "ongoing relationship" and the evidence of that can be presented at your interview. You will not receive an RFE asking for proof of an engagement party. Your petition need only "prove" that you have been together, in person, at least one time in the last two years. Sounds like you got that covered. Keep the other evidence for your interview.
