I was just reading the draft for the new I-129F there are a couple of new questions 4 and 9. The new questions aks have you ever been convicted of any of the outlandish crimes listed below. If we who applied after March 6 (AND HAVE MET IN PERSON) need to just fill this out when its released and CAN state NO to these crimes, they should be able to just replace the form with the new one and continue on.

If you met through a brokering agency (and HAVE NOT met your fiance in person) looks like you got some legwork, paperwork and a lot of waiting ahead of you. And actually thinking about this I agree.

Thats what I got from reading it.

Regards,

JM

So really the most important question we need answered is if this form has been approved and when on earth are they going to tell us what the process is?

I think so too.

It might be just a matter of meeting the new law, where they need to provide the beneficciary with the criminal records of the petitioner.

Maybe it´s just like when you are arriving by airplane to a country and you need to fill out some forms with questions like "have you commited this crime?" or "do you intend to bring drugs..?".

As far as I´m concerned, they already check the petitioner. Maybe this is just something else they need to get the USC to sign...

And for those who have a clean past everything will be smooth. That´s what I think..

So really the most important question we need answered is if this form has been approved and when on earth are they going to tell us what the process is?

Totally.

seems pretty straightforward and gets them in compliance. hopefully we all find out soon enough what is needed to get the process moving forward.

at least now they have a general idea of the direction they need to go in.

So on Part C of the new form: If you've never been in the military and have never been arrested, are you supposed to leave all this blank and just sign the form? Normally that is a no no (either put none or N/A).

The instructions don't provide any guidance in that situation.

the check all that apply is pretty good indication of what to do. if none apply, leave blank, sign and go about your business ;)

When it had gone on for 10 mins was when I decided to stop trying to 'work' so I came to VJ and started reading that form. Obviously couldn't read it either!!
