My Fiancee and I are getting married March 21, 2009. We have a honeymoon planned for April 27, 2009. I can cancel the honeymoon anytime and get my deposit back but after reading all these forums I had a few questions. First of all I'm on a TN Visa which was renewed in October and is valid until October 11, 2009. The way I see it these are my options (the honeymoon is a cruise out of baltimore to non-US ports for 6 days):

1) Get Married ASAP in a civil ceremony, submit paperwork including AP and hope it comes in time (we can postpone the trip in May 5th if need be).

2) Get married March 21 2009, go on honeymoon, submit paperwork upon our return from the trip.

3) Get married in march, cancel the cruise and submit paperwork.

The problem with #1 is that we may not get the AP in time. Is it possible that if we don't get it in time we can get it expidited?

The problem with #2 is I haven't found anything conclusive that says I can travel outside the country with a TN Visa while being married without there being a risk of getting caught upon return of having intent to immigrate (other than me lying to CBP in Baltimore).

I appreciate any advice you could give us!

It's almost guaranteed that you won't have it by April 27th, and also unlikely to expedite for a vacation.

I'm not familiar with TN visa, but I do know it can be revoked at any re-entry, so option 2 does not sound right because you would effectively have intent to stay on your last entry (after honeymoon).

3) is your best bet, get married, have a honeymoon within the states and do a cruise once you have greencard

09/20/2008 - Biometrics done - Walk in (Orlando) Took 10 minutes

09/22/2008 - I-485 viewable online (pending, of course)

09/30/2008 - Biometrics Appointment (2pm)

Can I wait until we have the AP for the cruise or should I wait for the greencard?

you can wait for AP - but you don't know how long it will take, approx 3 months is an average I guess - so maybe don't lose any deposits and book once you have that in hand
