Questions about these Forms

Alright, so I spent the day filing out these forms and have come up with the following questions:

(Some quick background, I'm on a TN Visa, renewed on Oct-12-08, marrying fiancee on March-21-09, TN Visa expires Oct-11-09).

I-485, I-765

Non-Immigrant Visa Number. Is this the 'Departure Number' on my I-94?

If so, is it 11 digits long or 9 digits? There's a space between the 9 digit number and 2 additional numbers.

Under 'Consulate Where Visa Was Issued' what should I put? I was issued a TN Visa at the Lewiston Border Office.

G-325a, I-864

What do I put as my Alien Number? I'm not able to find one in connection with my TN Visa. Do I leave this blank or put "None"?

I-693

Do I need to submit an I-693 along with my AOS if I'm on a TN Visa?

I-131

Under 'Class of Admission' do I put 'TN-1 Visa' or 'TN Visa'?

Thanks for your help!

non-immigrant visa number is on the TN visa, if any. I-94 number is exactly that... I-94 number

alien number = NONE

TN does not exempt you from required documents... submit the I-693 as required

class of admission = TN-1

YMMV

Thanks for your reply!

Just to make this question a little more clear:

I-485, I-765

Non-Immigrant Visa Number. Is this the 'Departure Number' on my I-94? (See attached Picture, is it #1, #1+#2 or #3?)

I'm still not clear on what to put here:

Non-immigrant visa number is NOT on your I-94. It is on your visa.

Departure number is I-94 number, which is 11 digit number

I'm still not clear on what to put here:

I think you should put Lewiston Border Office or just Lewiston... I don't know exactly

Thanks!

Just one last follow-up: I have a TN Visa, All I get is the I-94. Nothing else. So should I put 'None' under 'Non-immigrant Visa #'?

Alright, just a little update (incase anyone has a TN status and is going through all of this as well)

I-485, I-765

How long is the I-94 #, is it 11 digits long or 9 digits? 11 digits. There was a recent press release that there were some misprinted I-94s issued at some border posts and CBP will re-issue new ones and everyone was supposed to get that. However, the separate 2 digits in your case are part of the I-94 number and you are not a misprinted I-94 case.

G-325a, I-864

What do I put as my Alien Number? I'm not able to find one in connection with my TN Visa Status. Do I leave this blank or put "None"? NONE or BLANK Since I came in on a TN status I don't have one and will be issued one when I apply

I-693

Do I need to submit an I-693 along with my AOS if I'm on a TN Visa? YES

I-131

Under 'Class of Admission' do I put 'TN-1 Visa' or 'TN Visa'? TN-1 (no Visa or Status just TN-1)

So after all that only two question remain:

Non-Immigrant Visa Number. Is this the 'Departure Number' on my I-94? NO it is not the Non-Immigrant Visa Number The question remains which number it is since I don't get a VISA when I enter under TN Status. I'll triple check my passport tonight to confirm this though since that the only piece I come away with.

Under 'Consulate Where Visa Was Issued' what should I put? I was issued a TN Visa at the Lewiston border Office. The prevailing answer is I leave this blank since I wasn't issued a Visa. This requires further research. Any help with this would be appreciated from someone who's already completed all the forms.

So from reading elsewhere I found this:

APGC: "Nonimmigrant Visa Number", "Consulate Where Visa Was Issued" and "Date Visa Was Issued". Should I include the information I crossed the border with, even if I got status?

Answer: APGC, your answer to these questions should be N/A. Your current status is TN, and you were admitted as TN without a visa.

Ok, so to help anyone else in my situtation I'm putting together the final answer to all my questions here:

I-485, I-765

Non-Immigrant Visa Number. Is this the 'Departure Number' on my I-94? No it's not on the I-94 at all. As a TN Status you don't get a Visa number

From Multiple Source:

The non-immigrant visa number is on the visa that is stamped in the passport. If you didn't have a visa you will have no visa number.

If so, is it 11 digits long or 9 digits? There's a space between the 9 digit number and 2 additional numbers. 11 digits. There was a recent press release that there were some misprinted I-94s issued at some border posts and CBP will re-issue new ones and everyone was supposed to get that. However, the separate 2 digits in your case are part of the I-94 number and you are not a misprinted I-94 case.

Under 'Consulate Where Visa Was Issued' what should I put? I was issued a TN Visa at the Lewiston Border Office. Same answer as above for the Non-Immigrant Visa Number. Since I wasn't issued a Visa I will be putting N/A.

YES!

I-131

Under 'Class of Admission' do I put 'TN-1 Visa' or 'TN Visa'? TN-1

Hopefully someone else finds this information helpful. It took me a while to pull this together. I'll be filling shortly so wish me luck.
