How long does EAD approval take?

Dear All,

I am really worrying about my case now. I filed my AOS on Nov.5 and did my BIO on Dec.10, but still no update on my case since Dec.10. Many people who filed and did the BIO later than me have already gotten their mail of approval of EAD or gotten their AOS interview appointment letter. I would like to know if I need to call the USCIS, if so, I need to call the USCIS Chicago or USCIS local office. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

It took about 2 1/2 months for Claudeth's back in the fall of 2005.

By law - they have 90 days (not including any RFE response time) to approve EAD - typically it takes between 70 and 90 days.

Check out your months applicants if you haven't already. It's a good way of keeping track. There's still lots of people waiting and you have another 3 weeks until your 90 days are up.

Wait a couple of weeks before following up. They are under the gun to give you the EAD within 90 days of filing - that's the law, now. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays gave them a few more days off.

Your AOS appointment letter should arrive about six months after you applied, so there's no reason to be concerned.
