But really...you mentioned that it's "hard" work, implying you want to be rewarded for your work. Do you post for hearts, or do you post to contribute? My choice would be to get rid of hearts altogether. I think it encourages bad behavior.

Exactly. When people have nothing more to say than :thumbs: just so they can up their post count and get that ever-elusive next heart, it just makes VJ a poorer place. Everyone's join date is displayed to the left, that should be street cred enough.

Actually, here's an idea Ewok: how about if you make the heart system opt-in or opt-out? I'd love the opportunity to turn mine off.

but why? wouldnt it just be easier to let ppl be and let him have his extra heart? why is it everytime i turn around your making something simple into something dramatic? :D

Well, it's not up to me. Sounds like Ewok's gonna give him his heart, so it's pretty much a done deal.

Do you think? Huh. I thought I was being pretty positive. I said I thought heart epeens encourage the wrong behavior, and then I offered feedback on a decent alternative to getting rid of them outright. I thought it was pretty drama free. Now I'm feeling all self-conscious and stuff...

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.
