Oh well... 10 am in Maryland. My husband, me AND OUR BABY went in this freezing cold to get over with our interview thinking that this will be the last thing to do.. BUT NO :S

Somebody please tell me why after talking with a really really nice Officer, he tell us that he will aproved my I-130 and that after giving all my information to his supervisor, they will be contacting me about the 485 in 4 or 8 weeks with a letter in the mail.... what?!!!... what is that supposed to mean?.... I'm sorry but I've been married for 1 year, we had PLENTY OF PROOF, AND WE EVEN HAVE A BABY!

Everything was really nice, went really smoth. but.... I'm still hanging in a threat... Did it happened to you? WHat will happened next?....

I want to detail my interview BUT not now....the baby is calling, soooooooooooooo I shall be back ;)

By the way, I read many messages that officers can be very nice to all you and he can smile, but sometimes you get your passport without visa after interview. Only he decides to give you a visa or not. They don't explain details WHY? I am sorry to hear all it.. I understand your situation, just because we have a child too.. but in our currency way all is ahead.

I hope everything will turn well to all you and you will get a visa. Just because you are a completed family!!!

WOW! thank u very much for the wishes!!! Well Baby is American Citizen, just like his daddy.... Even when I thought that in our condition we really wouldn't need more proof, we still did our homework and prepared all the necessary papers for the Interview.

The questions were simple:

Do u know each other siblings if any (name them)

How did u meet

What did u like about each other

If we know each other's parents

if we had any more proofs that we will like to add to the Petition

I think that was all.... :( I wonder if they tell u that u will be called for another Interview right away.... I don;t even know what to expect in the mail! buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

yes, I know.. questions are very simple but you are surprised and get lost when you hear it because you don't understand how can they ask it if you are already family?? But it happens just because many people are fraud and try to make a fraud marriage and get to the US.

And about us, we were said the same that our child is 100 % proof of our relations and give 100 % garantue to get this visa. But right now we have been waiting for approval 4 months and still nothing.. But others, who filed after us, already got not only approval but visas also. :( I don't know where is the justice? But we have to struggle and go till the end just because we have the dearest people in a family and want to be together in spite of everything!!!

Can you explain, what is it 485??

Sounds like he approved your application and now you are in FBI namecheck. Standard procedure. The letter will be the welcome letter.

Yes, they almost got it, but officer demanded something of them.. but it's time also.. to wait their calling 1-2 months.

Well, my interview came 5 months after I applied, so don;t dispair! I'll come soon. It was weird that my friend applied on October and yet had her interview letter before me, BUT her appointment is fir february, mine was a month before.... So... It is really relative, each applicant and each petition.. FAITH FRIEND! I'll come soon ;)

By now I was efering to my Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status o I-485. That is teh one that is supposed to be REVISED before giving me an answer. And of course, the I-130 is the Petition for an Alien Relative. For what teh Official said this one is supposed to be APROVED...oh well... just wait I guess

FBI namecheck is something we all go through at the AOS stage. They check your name against any known terrorists or criminals, etc, to make sure they're not letting in anyone who will cause harm to the US or its people. Some breeze right through and others take longer if there is a "hit". I think mine took about 5 months.

I don't think you should worry. If you read through some of the interview experiences on the other AOS forum (adjusting from Family based visas), this happens all the time. I don't know exactly why some people are approved on the spot and some people are not, but if he approved the I-130 and told you to expect something in the mail, then I would relax:)

I got a stamp in my passport to approve me at my interview BUT I had to ask for it. I was travelling the next week. I think many offices do not give it out as standard process.
