hello all~

i've been reading and using the search function for this section, and have still to find a concrete answer

google has not found me the answer either

i am in the process of compiling the original packet to be sent out for k-1, and on the forms mentioned above they ask of an ALIEN NUMBER--

background- my fiance was in the states with an H2B visa in the year 2007, so he has an american visa in his passport as well as a social security number that i filled in

in regards to the elusive Alien Number should i:

a) leave it blank? ( my gut is telling me no)

b.) put a question mark

c) write in 'NONE' (does not seem logical, for he might have a number assigned, i just don't know it)

d) write N/A

e) leave it blank and not worry about it b/c I filled in his SS#

there is a red 8 digit number on his (used) american visa, placed just under his passport number

might that be it???

thanks a million

you all have be super helpful without even knowing it

Take a look under the I-94 in his passport. The alien number should be written underneath it on the date stamp. The 8-digit red number on his visa is his visa number.

Oh wait. They would have taken his I-94 out of his passport when he left. (Sometimes they don't, though.) Anyway, wherever the staplemarks are for the I-94 there will be a date-stamp in that area at the time he used his visa. The alien # will be written there.

He may not have an alien number. If you aren't sure, just leave it blank and all should be fine. If they find that he has one through looking at the SS, I imagine that they will just fill it in themselves if it's needed.
