Experts say Monday, January 19, 2009, will go down as the most depressing day in history.

Cold weather, fading Christmas memories and broken New Year resolutions always make this a miserable time of year.

But the effects of the economic downturn makes this year worse than ever, reports the Daily Mail.

Millions were expected to feel so glum they would decide to stay in bed and up to a quarter of workers were expected to call in sick.

Psychologist Dr Cliff Arnall has devised a mathematical formula that pinpoints today as Blue Monday.

He says there are six depressive factors - winter weather, Christmas credit card bills, abandoned New Year's resolutions, job security fears, mounting debt and the house price collapse.

Dr Arnall, 43, a former Cardiff University academic, said: "The credit crunch means today is potentially the most depressing Blue Monday we have had."

Separate research by staff absence specialist FirstCare claims 22% of workers are likely to call in sick today as seasonal illness hits a peak.

And, William Hartson, a psychologist at Cambridge University, has devised a mathematical formula which marks today as the most likely for accidents.

Hmm....

It's pretty outside, but cold.

I have no Christmas credit card bills.

I've been sticking to my New Year's resolution.

I have job security.

My debt is actually decreasing.

I don't plan on buying a house for another 2 years.

I also didn't have to go to work today because it's a holiday.....

Gee, I just had a blast filling out our state sales tax form, after adding up all the invoices. And all excited about going out in a few minutes to blow off my driveway. Then I can start on my federal and state income taxes, all kinds of fun things to do.

Daughter is having a blast snowboarding, wife asked about going snowmobiling so should be checking to see if I can rent one, hey, have some friends that own one. Don't feel my wife would really enjoy going out in the woods, no place to shop there.

Geeze. I going sledding with my wife, and build a snowman with her when we get out of work. Depressing?

I don't know. What does your wife look like?

ROFL.

It's her first winter, and she's enjoying it so much. The moment I mentioned sledding, and skating she instantly jumped to her feet. And, she always wanted a chance to build a snowman!

Cheer up, it could be worse...

You could live in Gaza, and u wake up to find that your camel was someone's dinner last night. Then you get to work, and your office has been destroyed by a rocket. And so u go to the local coffee shop, and all they have is hot diet water to serve u.

Then u come home, and now ur house is a militant hideout.

So, we should be cheery :)

Great day outside 72 degrees, I woke up to my beautiful wife and two darling kids,

No Debt from Christmas the only debt we now have is a 1200.00/ month mortgage and a 200.00 car note.

Half day at work due to Holiday Loving life, i think I will chose tomorrow to be depressed because i have to work a full 8 hours.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It's a British thing.

Suprisingly I'm not blue, I had the busiest day at work for a long time (it's normally dead), I'm close to seeing my fiance again and my boss treated me to lunch. Life is good lol.

I'm not blue; it's my son's 15th birthday today and I'm having a great time playing Rock Band 2 with him - in fact, I keep scoring 100% on the expert singing levels. :D

And we're about to have a birthday pizza. And then a birthday ice cream cake. And then an upset stomach.
