I am going to give some fellow VJ'S a heads up on passport. My wife just called from Bogota, Colombia. We had been advised to get name change notation in passport prior to interview and traveling to USA. To married name. This can not be done. It will take a new passport and may take a year to get. This comes directly from passport office in Bogota, Colombia. Colombia sucks!!!

10-25-2008 (NOA2) I-130 approval sent to NVC

Thats really sucks. cant beleieve it would that that long.

In thailand, it only took 2days for my wife to changed her passport to married name passport.

Wow that's a ridiculously long wait. :bonk::bonk:

I changed mine in Canada and had a new passport within 5 days - applied on a Monday and received new one on Friday.

1 year is a really long time for a new passport. It took my wife 3 weeks to get a new passport in India.
