Help! I am new here. My fiance' is Jamaican and lives in Ochis Rios, Jamaica. He mailed me some passport photos to go with the G325, but they haven't arrived yet. I want to mail our packet this week. I found this on the USCIS website. Can I print it, and include it in my package?

http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/I1...325A_110105.pdf

I want to beat the rush of filers that are waiting on Income tax refunds. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't include that in your petition - It could piss someone off, because it could come across as cocky and as if you are telling them how to do their job - They should be aware of that memo, but it doesn't mean that they will follow it.

If you send it without the pics, you risk an RFE - How did your SO send the pics to you? The JA mailsystem is not the best - Better for him to send it to you by DHL or Fed Ex than regular mail - Regular mail can take 6 days, can take 6 months -

In my opinion it is best to do everything possible to make this process go as smoothly as possible. When my husband and I were mailing back and forth between Jamaica, we used UPS or Fed-Ex, yes it is a little more expensive but worth it because you get the documents within a couple of days. If your fiance is able to re-do the photos and send you them via Fed-Ex, DHL, etc that would prob. be the best option. The mail down there can be very unreliable. It took my husband almost a month to get a mailing from the Embassy in Kingston... the island isn't that big! ;)

Thanks for responding. I posted in the K-1 forum, and they were too busy telling me off than helping. I didn't think of that Sus. I guess it could be taken the wrong way. What is airmail? He told me that he mailed them by airmail. I thought that was express.

He doesn't have a lot of money. I am making him responsible for helping, and I refuse to send money for his part of the process. What is a RFE? Will they just take my money and deny the package?

Air mail is regular mail - an RFE is a request for evidence - not a denial, just a delay -

I understand you on the money issue, but you have to know when to hold your ground and choose your battles - You are filing to build a life together, and your money is his money, visa versa - if you really want to get it filed ASAP, I would suck it up and send him the money to retake the pics and send them via Fed Ex, DHL, UPS, etc...

Ok. Thanx for the dash of cold water to wake my butt up. I'll call him and tell him to redo them. I guess I will be headed to Western Union.

I was reading the thread above called Yardie. What does Yardie mean? There was a lot of conversations going on. Kind of hard to know what's going on.

Jamaicans call Jamaica or their home their "yard" - therefore the term yardie. Good people in the yardie thread - you will learn alot more about your SO and his culture, as well as have all your questions answered. Welcome!

I have learned the hard way about the Jamaica mail system. Does it matter which State in Jamaica? (I know it is not called States, but I can't remember what he called them) I mean like if he mails it from Montego Bay instead of Ochis Rios?
