Hello all. I'm new here. I wanted to file my paperwork for the K-1 today, but my fiance's passport photos still haven't arrived from Jamaica. Can I still mail the package without them? Will they deny the package? I wanted to file before alot of people started getting their tax refunds to pay the fees. Please help. I don't know how long it will take for those pictures to arrive!

I'm a nervous wreck!

Wow, great research,I read the instructions for G325a and it says nothing of photos, but to be sure call them. that document is from 2005, and if they do require photos it will delay your approval. This was in the instructions:

If you have any questions on how to complete the form, call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I don't understand why we have such a rash of people lately with the impression the passport pictures are associated with the G325a. G325a and passport pictures are mentioned in the I-129F instructions (or I-130 as applicable) and are in support of the petition, not in support of the G325a.

I was reading the guides for K-1 here and it said to attach the passport photo to the G325 for the petitioner and the beneficiary. That may have been why I had the belief. I'm sorry if my question is a problem. I'll figure it out. Thanks anyway.

The question is not a problem. Thanks for clearing up the source of the confusion. Those are misleading instructions, as evidenced by the recent rash of confusion they are causing.

Well since the G325 and the I-129 go together in the same package, it really doesnt matter. I attached Ed's passport photos to the G-325 and there wasnt an issue. To the OP, attach them if you want to the G-325, and yes, you need to wait to have the passport photos before you send out the package, since that was your initial question.

pushbrk, what confusion? The OP was asking about if they needed to wait for the passport photos before sending off the K-1 package, simple answer would be "yes". And yes, the OP can attach them to the G-325, its not going to cause any problems. The guides are correct!

This process is intimidating yes, dont let the photos get you down, or you wont make it thru the rest of it. Its better to have him re-do them and send the package later than you wanted, then to have a denial or an RFE. Good luck to ya!

No, the Guide says to attach a the bag to a sheet of paper and place the sheet behind the G325a. The reason for the order is that's the order the two items are mentioned in the I-129F instructions. It would work just as well to put the sheet with the bag attached, pretty much anywhere in the packet but behind the G325a seems most logical to me.

10. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the foreign fiance(e). Write the full name of the foreign fiance(e) on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of (insert foreign fiance(e) name) ". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

point is, ppl need to read the GUIDES!!

Yes, it's clear the guides are specific and the people with the misunderstanding are not reading carefully and interpreting literally, perhaps augmented by the statements of others who have done similarly. I've even gotten questions like, "Do I need to staple four sheets, one for each copy of the G325a?"

Fortunately, the guides mention the supporting docuements in the order they are mentioned in petition instructions.

I re-read my original question, and I didn't mention the G325a at all. So, I wasn't confused about what form requests the passport photos. I will wait until Friday, then if they are still not here, I will mail the package and send the photos when I get an RFE.
