CENOMAR is for single. You dont need a copy of CENOMAR on your interview for CR-1

But you do need a copy of CENMAR( Marriage Certificate) on your visa interview.

Good Luck!!!

A Cenomar/cenmar and a marriage certificate are two different things. The cenomar (certificate of no marriage) is a requirement for the US embassy visa application process. In that document it will state your name, your parents' name and ALL the marriages you have contracted in the Philippines. A ceNOmar is for single people. A cenmar (certificate of marriage) on the other hand is a similar document but is for married people. So note there is a difference between a cenmar and ceNOmar.

A marriage certificate simply states that you have married your current partner. Whereas a cenmar or ceNOmar, lists all your marriages. When you recieve the cenmar / cenomar, you will see teh difference between that document and the marriage certificate.

For women, they will use your maiden name on the cenmar / cenomar.

God bless.

I met a friend (not a VJ member) who had the same interview date as mine last Jan 9 and was applying for a CR1. When we had our 2nd day of the medical, she asked me about the DV fee and I told her that it was suspended and planning to get a refund from DELBROS. She was surprised to know that it was suspended last October because she made the payment last November (same as me). And I told her to get a CENOMAR instead because that replaces the DV fee. Then she made an argument that why need a CENOMAR when she has a marriage certificate to prove it. So, I got mum for a while and didn't argued though because we don't have the same visa category (and I think I was right since I just found it lately that a CENOMAR is for single ladies and CENMAR are for married ones) . On the day of the interview, we met again and after I got my pink slip, she was out from the CO room and told me that I was right. She had a 221g form saying that she needs to submit a CENMAR. As of now, she is still patiently waiting for her CENMAR to arrive so that she could submit it to the Embassy and wait again for her visa to come.

I guess, you need to have one for your interview and you should use your married name because they would be able to trace the registry number of your marriage to the petitioner.

I hope I had helped. Good Luck! :)
