Ok, I got transferred to a rep who told me my case is assigned to someone and it is being reviewed. She said they don't post information on expedite requests.. Aren't I lucky?????

Anyway, nice to know someone has my file.

She told me the congressman should have more info for me since they have connections.

Still, its Friday and it has been a slow week at VSC. I'm getting ready for the pity party at 5pm.

PS- Thanks for posting the updated times. Honestly, I have not checked their website or the account login thing since the new year. I figure it's all BS anyway. I'm happy to see that some still have a positive outlook on the whole thing.

My husband has been so depressed lately.... I would love to be able to give him something to smile about. And to celebrate in person .... I can't ask for anything more ( given the situation)

Last night I was trying to make him feel better. I was saying how I thought we would be approved soon... He said " Jen, you don't need to keep telling me that"

He knows I am trying to make him feel better.

Ok so I called uscis even though I know its pointless and they said that they can't put in a service request because I am not in the processing time frame by 8 days!!!! I explained about november 30 it was 4.1.2008 date but it was like talking to a robot

The congressman is an elected official. It is their job to help you. I asked them to inquire about my expedite request on Wednesday THEN I called about 12 noon today to ask them if they heard anything. Low and behold, late yesterday afternoon they received a response but didn't call me. I am glad I followed up with them.

They recuieved my i130 april 6 and noa2 date of april 14 omg im soooo upsetttt they couldn't just put 4/15/2008??!!

I would try your luck anyways

and ask to speak to a supervisor go the expedite route on the phone line

I don't think there is any good news with the processing time update except maybe for Monica&Isha who can now call VSC and start bugging them. Almost everyone else is still within the official timelines. In any case when they publish a date (April 01 in this case), they consider themselves done with all the cases before that. Of course their officers are assigned 2-3 months worth of cases at a time and it is no surprise that some June cases are getting approved. This also fits well with the fact that the April 01 date is as of November 30 and so nearly two months later they have had a chance to look at May and June files - but they won't publish that date now because not all May and June filers are approved yet.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the processing times mean absolutely nothing. Even Monica and Isha who are now out of the processing times...they can call, but many times in the past, those who were outside of the times called and were told, "You have to wait xxx number of days before we can make an inquiry for you" or "Hmm...the computer doesn't show you're outside of the processing times...it's not letting me create an inquiry request." A bunch of BS that doesn't help anyone. So really, in my opinion, the only difference we're gonna see is the robots telling us "We're processing April 1st" Instead of "February 26th"...

I'm telling you, I just wash my hands of the whole thing. I'm going to work on my portfolios for school, which the first one is due January 31st. Once I'm done with that, if I still don't have an approval, I'll be submitting my CV overseas and will be calling international moving companies for quotes. I'm not putting my life in limbo anymore for this ####### (dis)organization called USCIS!!!! Seriously, considering everything, the US is NOT worth all this trouble for my husband. So why should I let it be worth all this trouble for me??? To hell with school and money. I don't care anymore. It's all wasted, all down the drain, all for nothing...well so are these last 9 + months that I wasted putting hope into a ####### system that only works in random bursts.

i wold him this process is bull* so forget it

I am not doing this anymore, offcourse he is the one with more patient

there are congressman for each section of the county you live in.

I googled the information and I just made a phone call to my local office. They asked me to fill out a release and I faxed it back. Then they just sent an e-mail to the VSC asking for status.

They got a response in a few days. This time it only took one day.

The USCIS told me the congressmen have contacts that enables them to get more info then the reps can give over the phone.

The USC has to call because you need to send them a release of information. And you have to call the local congressman. Have your husband call the congressman in his area. I had no idea what I was doing when I callled but when you tell them what you want, they know exactly what you are talking about. Tell your husband to give them his e-mail address so they can send him the response that way instead of snail mail. I would call them if you don't hear anything within a few days
