Hi, there! I just wanna asks something about baggage allowance in Northwest Airlines. I was confuse, I bought a luggage today and I had a big one because the 23kg luggage is too small for my stuff so I chose this big one. I was wondering if it`s okay. I check this site , since I will be flying with Northwest soon! I base my luggage in their specs. but I am still confuse. Can somebody help me understand their checked baggage.

well you are allowed 2 bags to check 23 kilo each and that is free because you are flying international and then you can carry one also as long as it will fit in the overhead compartment . if you have more then that you will be charged what it looks like is 150.00 usd it would have to be a really big bag to not meet the requirements like 5 feet long good luck and have a safe trip

Are you flying on PAL? and then NWA, NWA will take the same bags that Pal will PAL is down to 50 lb per bag 20 lbs for what you take in the plane

For domestic and trans-Atlantic travel, the maximum weight accepted for any piece of checked baggage, including special baggage items, is 70 pounds. For trans-Pacific travel, the maximum weight accepted for any piece of checked baggage is 100 pounds

when you bought the luggage you should asked the 62inches dimension and the person incharge of the luggage in mall already knew that...

bear in mind that we are now only allowed 2baggages free with 50lbs only or 23kilos...no more than that because the excess fee is very high...the carry on is 15lbs.

don't be confused of the said domestic flight...even though you have a domestic flight coz you will be transferring to another plane...you are not counted for that since that is your connecting flight.what you have is an international flight.

happy trip & take care!!!!!

Am taking Cathay - United to my POE. Since there are two of us traveling, we are allowed two 23kg (50lbs) checked baggages and one each of a 15lb carry-on. Our baggages consist of 2 23kg bags, 1 larger bag, the weight of which I intend to keep below 50lbs if I could, and 1 balikbayan box.

Is what I intend to do with the larger bag ok? I measured the bag and it is the usual largest bag intended for 70lbs. I saw that baggage dimensions are the same throughout all classes of travel, only difference is the weight allowance. So that I can still use this bag and keep the weight at 50lbs?

There are oversize fees also. SO if your bag is both too big and too heavy you have 2 fees to pay. If it is too big there is just one which is usually the same as the one for over wieght. If you change airlines in the US and it isn't not a partner to the one you started on you will be working as though it is a domestic only flight and you will only have one free bag. If it is a partner airline you get the international limits.

You get two free bags. They cannot weigh over 23kg combined.

Please note the highlight above. Two bags - not more than 50lbs combined or you will be charged $180 minimum for excess baggage.
