Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I can't seem to find any discussion of my issue.

There's lots of information here about (as the topic suggests) working and traveling between K-1 arrival and AOS approval, and I know that volunteering is always an option, but what about study?

When I met my fiancee, she was a university student here on an F-1 visa. She has since graduated, thereby closing her SEVIS record, and returned home, but she may want to pursue further studies (obviously as soon as possible) upon her return.

Is there such a thing as Study Authorization Document, or does the EAD also allow for study, or must we wait for the magical green card for her to pursue further study?

TIA for any help and advice, and thanks also for having this site to aid us on our journey. (L) (L)

Mariposa,

i believe you can study anytime, anywhere you want, providing you have entered the US legally (in this case, using your K1 visa). on school applications, there is usually a place where you have to put your immigration status, visa expiration, etc... But as long as you are here legally, you should be fine.

the only problem is that you probably won't be eligible for financial aid until you have become a permanent resident. i'm not sure about this... there may be privately-funded grants or scholarships that might be available... it is worth investigating.
