USCIS will send the NOA 1 and most important NOA 2, and NVC will send a letter to let you know that they have sent your petition to the consulate. the NOA 2 is needed for the AOS stage, so yes, Fiance's address is really important....

Just to make sure - are you sure they will be sending all this to my fiance in Ukraine and not me here in US? If that's the case, which address they will be using for fiance - one in my I-129F or his G325a? The problem is he didn't specify apartment # in his form by accident and I'm afraid that could cause problems...

not to sure about that, you can visit the consulate website and look for a phone number or an email and ask...

The information is available by download from the embassy website, in Ukrainian or English I think. The address (including apartment number) is important if lack ofa number will cause mail to not be delivered. Since the Ukrainian post will deliver the packet, native language can be helpful.

You can call USCIS to make an address change. There is a phone menu choice specifically for that if I recall.

Good Luck!

Just to echo Brad

All approved I-129F petitions are being sent by USCIS to the National Visa Center (NVC) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, rather then being sent directly to the overseas issuing post. The NVC performs all initial procedures, after which the completed petition is sent to the appropriate office overseas. You may be sure that once we have received an approved petition, we will contact your fiancé(e) regarding preparations for the formal visa interview.

When we receive an approved I-129F petition, we send information to the beneficiary. The Information packet (the former Packet 3 and 4) tells the applicant what documents he or she must collect prior to the visa interview and how to schedule the formal visa interview. The Information packet for applicants from Ukraine is in Ukrainian. We also have forms in English. The complete list of the required documents is posted on this page under the Information packet link.

Little or nothing (and nothing important) will be sent to your Fiancee. We never received packet 3 or 4 and this is not unusual in Ukraine. I downloaded packet 3 from the embassy website, packet 4 is merely an invitation letter that confirms your invitation number and interview date and time. You do not need it and they will give you this information on the phone when you call for your interview. For that matter, we didn't even need that but showed only our passportws and we were "on the list" the people outside have.

yes address is important. and if he didnt specify the apt number, you should be able to call USCIS and update the address

Also, when approved or if approved, and gone thru NVC, the embassy will need somewhere to mail the package 3

We had the same problem as you regarding the fiance address... The fiance address is not really important until you have received your NOA2 and the file is on it's way to the Consulate. The CONSULATE will send him his packets 3 & 4 to the address on the paperwork, but he can just call the consulate with your case number (once you receive it) and give them the correct mailing address over the phone. They ask for the address in the native alphabet because in some languages (such as arabic in our case), the names of streets and such get messed up in translation. Some letters/sounds are lost/added in translation, which changes the address more or less...

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

Cool - I was hoping payxibka would check in. I am at an internet cafe' in Kiev, and the configuration here... well, let's just say I am technologically challenged under normal circumstances.

I actually downloaded the entire info. packet from the website above and emailed it to Vika. Her packet did eventually arrive in the mail, but she appreciated the head start.

Also, when approved or if approved, and gone thru NVC, the embassy will need somewhere to mail the package 3

When you are approved (in Kiev) you will take your pink card out to the FedEx window and arrange for delivery. You can specify ANY address for delivery of the visa and alternate people to sign for it. The address for visa delivery need not bear any relation to your fiancee's home address. Other than the fact that you do not want to "lie" about anything, the address of the overseas fiancee is completely facetious. You do not "need" anything that will be sent to her and, in fact, you are delaying the process by several weeks to wait for anything to be delivered to her, if it ever arrives.

I downloaded packet 3 (you have no need for packet 4) about the time I filed the I-129f petition and my wife never saw the papers in packet 3 until I met her the day before the interview. We reviewed everything and she signed what she needed. (except DS-156K which MUST be signed at the consulate) We had our packet 3 completed LONG before the visa was approved (NOA2) and the day it was entered in the consulate computer I called and scheduled an interview, packet 3 never had the chance to "leave the gate" so to speak, and we were ready. About 2 weeks AFTER we had already scheduled an interview I git an email saying that our case had been received and packet 3 had been sent to my fiancee. She never got it, but it was completely irrelevent anyway.

I prepared the AOS papers before she arrived in the USA, needing to add only the copy of our marriage license and copy of her I-94 plus entering "A" numbers, I-94 numbers and such. We went from filing the petition to receiving her green card in less than 10 months and it would have been 2 months sooner if it hadn't been for our own personal conflicts in scheduling the interview in Kiev and Alla finishing out her work there. Bottom line...the address is not important (except for being truthful in records)and NEVER wait for the government to send you something you can download yourself.

I would just add here that you also have the option to leave no address with FedEx. Then you can call them (or they will call you), and you can pick up the information at the Fedex office in Kiev. This is how we did it, and had the visa in about 48 hours. To be fair, you should allow extra time in Kiev in case the processing at the embassy takes a few days longer than ours did.
