Coming from Colombia

Greetings,

My fiancee currently lives in Colombia and is wanting to move here to the United States. We have not yet started the paperwork process yet, but are planning on doing so after she comes to stay for awhile in a couple of weeks on her tourist visa.

She is concerned about being denied the visa necessary to stay in the country because of being Colombian. She has had no problem coming to visit the United States on her tourist visa, and has visited the country several times, most recently over the holidays to visit friends in Florida.

Does anyone know of any unusual problems with Colombians immigrating to the United States? I would like to be able to ease her concerns if that is possible. Or plan for an alternative if there could be problems.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Regards,

Patrick

Greetings Patrick, welcome to VJ.

There are quite a few resources for both Spanish and English speakers on this site that show quite well several things-

among them, that strong evidence and real dedication to the visa process is almost undeniably the #1 way at getting an approval.

What visa you choose will be up to you. Feel free to search the guides, as well as the Colombia Club threads with their countless pages of posts with concerns and answers to almost every single kind of question you could imagine.

Good luck.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
