No approval yet on our K1 petition after acceptance since 6/25/08

Hello, Im engaged to my love from California. I just can't help to wonder what was happened to my fiance's petition. He filed it at California Service Center and it was accepted 6/25/08 as shown on the USCIS website. It's already beyond the 6month time frame. After finding this site last week and discovered the trend of getting approval, I have started to worry what went wrong to our papers as we didn't get any notice of whatsoever after getting the notice of acceptance. My fiance already called the customer service and informed them of the time discrepancy. But we would get a reply in 45-60 days yet :(.

How stressful it can be emotionally getting a problem from the processing without knowing what went wrong. It is hard already to be away from someone I really love knowing we want to be together very soon. We treat each other as husband and wife already, in our hearts. I know you will understand the emotions we are going through. Though my fiance and I just have been together again this last New Year, it's still hard as we miss each other so much. I'm still adjusting to the fact he's not around again. We have been praying and hoping that we could be together finally by the 2nd quarter, if not this 1st quarter. It's really in God's hands now, something beyond our control.

But can anyone please give us idea what to exppect next? We are now on 7 months waiting, is there anyway for us to to minimize waiting for 3-4 months until I get interview date? I have read the guidelines after filing the petition from the pdf file of USCIS. It says there that there is a "premium processing service" for a fee which processes in 15 calendar days. One of the criterias for expedited handling is USCIS error, which I think we qualify for this. Does anyone know out there if this works?

Advises would be deeply appreciated.

It's really nice to read those forums' messages knowing we are not alone here :).

Many thanks!

Timeline

You should complete your time line so others will know exactly where you are in the process. It sounds like you've rec'd NOA1 only. At this point, you should have definitely received NOA2. I rec'd NOA1 5/28/2008 and my fiancee is here with me now.

Life..... Nobody gets out alive.

It is a long wait but there where quite a few late June filers last week that just got approved.

Unless you got hung up in security checks you should be soon receiving news. If you want to know whether you are in AP then I would suggest to contact your congressman to make an inquiry on your behalf. If that should be the case for you you can easily expect to wait a few more months.

Good luck!

The Petitioner needs to be on the phone making calls and finding out what's going on.

We went through the Vermont Service Center: We sent our I-129F July 21, Our NOA1 was dated August 7, 2008 and our NOA2 was dated December 14th.

Your fiance needs to start making phone calls and try finding out what the hold-up is if he hasn't already started that process.

Take a look to see what the processing times are for your service center:

As of September 30, 2008, VSC was processing cases filed in early March.

As of September 30, 2008, CSC was processing cases at 6 months (March).

(Calling the USCIS Service Center will not do any good because they will just repeat exactly what the site says about the processing times.)

We met in October 2007 and our immigration journey started in July 2008 when we filed for the I-129F Fiance Visa petition.

Thank you all for the replies, guys. It's nice to hear thoughts from fellows :). Anyway, as posted on the USCIS site, we waited patiently for the approval for 6months until I saw VJ. This was when we started to get worried. In fairness to my fiance, he started calling customer service when I found this site and saw the trend visa processing timeline. He called me this morning to inform me that he got the response by mail already. Our papers are on security check indeed. We just don't understand why it is taking so long on security check... :( Hopefully soon, we will get a positive result...it's just getting harder now being away from each other...Please pray for us. Thanks a lot again...

Have your SO contact his Congressman and Senator. They can help some for troubles here in the States.

Take care and be strong!!

Everything will work out.

Hi, thanks you for the encouragement and for the idea of asking assistance from a government personality :). I will tell my fiance when he calls me again tomorrow. May we ask how is it done to contact the congressman or senator of California? Do we just have to write a letter of resquest for assistance and mail it? Or handcarry by my fiance to the senator's office? Do they really help?

God bless!
