I brought my stepdaughter on a k4 visa, but her mother's family from the start sabotaged any relationship I have with her, but they were unaware of the filing status. To date she has been here for almost a year, is living with her mother's family and the only paperwork that is done is her I 130, nad a visa that is good for another year. Her family and my husband want me to put through all of her paperwork, but I don't want to sign an affadvit of support because she is not supported by me. Additionally, I am unsure of the law because she is 10 years old and I may be legally responsible for her, but now I am not because the mother's family took possession of her almost a year ago and that is when all actions ceased on her case. I am an AC and her father is waiting for his AOS.

What are my legal obligations, rights and responsiblities? Her family right now is wrecking havoc on my marriage and they refuse to let her return to her mother in her home country without her green card.
