NVC - original documents

Hello all.

This is my first post and I'm just starting out on this journey and trying to get my mind around everything . I mailed the I-130 for my husband yesterday, and I'm now trying to organize everything we'll need for the NVC step. (I realize that's a way off, but I want to be totally prepared in case Vermont miraculously speeds up.) I just returned from Morocco and while there I had my husband sign the DS-3032 form assigning me as his agent, and we've completed and he's signed the DS-230. I also have the I-864 ready and that won't take long to finalize.

In my online research, there seems to some discrepancy as to whether the NVC requires original beneficiary documents, such as the birth certificate and police certificate/s. For those who've been through the NVC, do they ask for originals? And for those with Moroccan husbands, do you know if two police certificates are required - the Fiche Anthropométrique and the Extrait de Casier Judiciaire (Sijel Al Adli?)? I'm a bit confused about these - I think one is a local police certificate from the town they live in, and the other is the court document from Rabat. I know he got one of them (I think the latter) for our marriage process, but I want to make sure we've got exactly what's needed for the NVC so I can get them translated ahead of time.

Thanks so much in advance for any light you can shed.

Thank you very much for responding, and for the welcome! I'll get hold of originals, to be on the safe side. I'm vaguely worried there will be something like a 6 month expiry date on them if I get them too soon ... I did find out from the Dept. of State website after more hours of research that I need two police documents - the Fiche Anthropometrique and the Casier Judiciaire. One of them I know my husband got last September when we were married - I think the latter.

I'm going the CR1 route, if it still looks like the extra wait is only a month or so compared to the K3. I'm trying to be optimistic that with the transferral of I-130s from VT to CA in Dec, and N-400s from VT to TX from next week, that VT's caseload will lighten and speed up. Inch'allah. (We've waited years to get to this point - I only got my US citizenship last week.)

there are two one police and one court, also they expire so u cant get them this early. My understanding is they want originals, that is what i sent. You do still have a wait ahead of you i would guess no less than 6 months so u have time to gather all but it is good to look ahead and be very prepared.....

Hi, I didn't realize the I-129f asked for any of the beneficiary's documents (like birth certificate) other than the G-325 with original signature and passport photos. Am I wrong?
