i am sooooooooooooooooo frustrated..................i have been trying to call the visa specialist line all day. I have been on hold on 2 phones waiting to get thru.............as on right now on one phone i have been on hold for 1 hour and 9 mins and on the second phone i have been on hold for 2 hours and 41 mins...........

do agents actually answer the phone and is it just a loop? i have wasted half of my day with this......................

:(

all i can think is why me??????????????????????????

case originally submitted in oct 2007

and the nvc has just completed it last month..................... why is it taking us sooooooooooooooooo long????????????? its soooooooooooooo unfair.......... if i was a rich woman..................i would have just moved overseas :(

sorry for venting...........

Bset time to call NVC is 0730-0900 EST when most people still sleep or getting ready for work or at night around 7 pm ... it works for me. If you try to call them between 9 am-5pm, thats the peak hours, which is also known as REG Business Hours...Goodluck!

HI all............... I am new to this website ..........can someone PLEASE tell me generally how long it takes for the interview date to be set up once nvc completes case? My case was completed on Dec29 2008 and i still havent received anything. I know it may sound like im being impatient but I got married in jun 2007 and am still waiting for my husband to get here. Its a shame it takes this long for a US citizen to bring their spouse over.

Where can i can to get info about the interview date. I called the visa bulletin number on the NVC website but that is sooo hard to understand.

I called the nvc info line and all that says is "case was completed on 29dec2008 pls allow 8 weeks for further info"

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE

The NVC schedule 2nd weekd of the each Month. So You can call back On the week of Feb.9th.

My case was completed on dec 24th.

The operators ladies dont know anything except the info they see on the computer monitor.

will have to wait 3 more weeks.

Good luck to u and me , hahaha.

My case has been completed a few weeks after yours, January 7, 2009. I plan to write an email to BKK regarding the posting on their website because it has not been updated since last December.

Your case will hit eight weeks before the 18th of February. Look like you have a slim chance to go in on February. I expect mine to go in around March. Based on information received from the Dallas pundit who posted his information in this website, it took a few days to complete the medical check-up. (I would love to have mine going in February. However, that is a rare event, which I have not expect much.)

Hello...luckymom's husband here....:)

Sasha, you were simply lucky to get an interview scheduled after 3 days (you called at the right time by sheer chance). I spoke with an NVC operator and she explained to me that the interviews for the following month are always scheduled on the 2nd week of the current month. For example, if your case is completed in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th week of January, or during the first week of February, during the 2nd week of February those cases will be scheduled in March. This assumes, of course, that there is no backlog that needs to be filled first. The date will depend on the backlog and the case load of the individual consulate, so there is no rule of thumb that will work for everyone.

If someone wants to obtain information about their scheduled interview, I would recommend calling NVC at the end of the second week of the month following the date of completion.

My husband's case was completed on May 12th. I was leaving the country for the jungle and no communication and called NVC on May 20th. I was told they schedule they schedule the 2nd week of the month. I called again on May 23rd to find a better way to find out the interview date because I had a relative calling. And we all know how difficult it is reach the NVC without a bunch of phone calls.

I explained the situation to the rep and he said my interview was scheduled yesterday (22nd of May) for July 1 and it was confirmed today(23rd of May). I was soooo happy not to have to go to plan B, which would have been a mightmare to find out the date. So they do schedule other then the second week. Mine was scheduled the 23rd of the month.

My case would have been much faster, but I had a complete fool for an attorney, it seems she delayed my case alot. I would have sent everything to the NVC sooner but she told me a month later.

I am just wondering is there any way to get an interview asap? And what do you need for the interview?

I basically call the NVC on a daily basis, my husband says i shouldjust work there at this point...lol Anyways, the lady was nice and told me if i contact the Naples embassy they are the only ones who can get a faster apt for you. They will have to schedule and then request file from NVC. So I just sent emailes to everyone on satff i think, cause it is impossible to get them on the phone. I will let you all know the outcome of my desperate mearures.....

Well me an dmy wife's case was completed the second of november and we still have to wait. I called everyone and well its all the same no news. The Ankara embassy is slow at taking these visas and are not busy at all. My wife said last time she got her visa in 2 days to come here for a J-1 and it was a ghost town. Well if anyone has a spouse in turkey you better just say ill see you next year.

I will call back tomorrow and confirm with them if they can schedule a interview for February or not. I really want to get this over with, it's been such a long journey

Once you do get the interview assigned and your case is forwarded to the consulate, Naples is pretty receptive to moving your date up if they have availablility... But they have to have the case in their hands and that happens after you are scheduled at NVC... So once you get your date, keep checking with NVC to see when they sent it to the consulate, then e-mail the consulate to ask if you can get an earlier date... I know of 3 Naples CR1/IR applications that got earlier dates that way (including mine)
