My greencard finally arrived!

I know from reading VJ it can take a while to get the physical green card in the mail after you arrive in the USA, but as the SNN arrived so quick, and with no welcome letter either, I was starting to get a bit worried. Well, both green card and the welcome letter arrived today, in seperate envelopes! Two things I noticed:

- They send a small paper envelope to keep my green card in. Nice of them, but the green card is heavy laminated plastic and should last just fine. Why don't they put the SNN in a more lasting format, rather than a flimsy piece of paper? The green card I'll only need for 3 years, some people for 5. It is valid for ten years so even if I never got citizenship, I'll get a new one after ten years. But the SNN card I need to keep forever!

- The green card isn't green! I know this is silly, but I expected it to be green, or have green writing or something... there is a little bit of green writing on the back but it is minimal. I wonder where the name comes from?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
