What qualifies a car as low emissions? 30+, 40+mpg?

The mustang can get 30 if you drive 10 under the speed limit on the highway. In the city it gets 12mpg.

Cat you and I are actualy saving the world with our gas guzzlers :P

And paying for an Oil Exec's comfortable retirement with each fill. :)

If you get the Camaro, I'm coming over and we're going for a ride.

MUSTANG!?

Nah. The BMW Sinister 6. That is way cooler!

A long time ago, I worked as the warranty manager for an exotic car dealership.

Yes, I said exotic...might go with this thread as the word ####### was thrown in somewhere.

I got to test drive and deliver vehicles:

Ferraris

Lamborghinis

Lotuses (Loti??, hahaha)

Alphas

and more...we had all kinds of vehicles dropped off for service.

Mmmmmm....oh it was niiiiiiiiiice.

I love and am a great driver...if I can just blurt out such statements to all of you have yet to meet me.

B)

And so, I am trying to say: I love cars.

However my love of the planet is greater, and so, my sweetie's GTO that is a blast to drive, is so impractical; and since he insists on not putting winter tires on it is rendered useless now that there is snow on the ground here in Chi-town. I used to drive my tiny MR2 all year-round when I lived in Montreal. With really good winter tires on, it gripped like crazy and talking corners sideways in a little car is so fun and totally do-able.

Changing tires (with rims) saves your Summer one and your mags too. Silly partner of mine...oh well.

And so, this is what has happened and I am looking into getting a very low emissions vehicle that is a hatchback type or something equally practical.

We looked at the Ford Edge and/or Mercury Mariner (it's the same exact vehicle), because he wanted a bigger vehicle. Both of these have hybrid models.

And I inspected the Toyota Prius and Honda Civic hybrid.

What I had not realized is that all hybrids are made automatic transmission.

Man, I love to drive stick!!!

We have made no decisions yet.

We need to flip a coin....

:P

Anyone heard of "stimulus package" for new car buyers?

There's a rumour going around...
