Low emissions - well, the bicycle has none, but I on the other hand...

...as for the car that I don't use very often, no, full on hard core polluting monster.

Does your husband take the bus or train to work?

Do you walk to work or bring your lunch?

My daily commute one-way is just over 50 miles. I was carpooling for awhile but have been driving myself lately because of project deadlines. I drive a 93 Civic EX which averages about 32 mpg.

I'm beginning to suspect that Fancy thinks my husband might be a figment of my imagination

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Low Emissions, is that really important? Maybe.

Personally, I'm looking for value for my money when I buy my car. That means a car that can carry passengers, groceries, won't cost an arm and a leg to maintain, is reasonably efficient in its use of fuel, and last forever (or close )... I don't need power and I couldn't give two sh1ts about my carbon footprint.

You need to move closer to work or else you hate the Earth.

Really, though, 50 miles? Damn.

I whine about driving to work and it's less than 10 :jest:

The terrorists must hate me!

We might be moving about 20 miles closer but it's still up in the air.

On the West Coast, that's not bad. Everything out here is so spread out. We don't like having to rub elbows with other people apparently...and of course we hate the earth.

Well out where I live a 30 mile drive could last forever. It's very dense out here, makes for traffic that flows like molasses.

Those Smart cars don't look too 'smart' to me. If you backed one of those things into a mailbox at 3MPH, they'd probably need the jaws of life to get you out of it.
