Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhh... why is it that when you ask a yes or no question, Filipinos will answer with 'it's ok?'

Would you like a drink? - It's ok

Do you want me to bring you the item you forgot? - It's ok.

Is the word 'no' considered rude??? Bahhhhhhhh!

Mostly, Filipinos want to avoid offending someone by saying 'No' so we either give the 'It's ok' answer or any indirect answer to the question.

Lady1 = "How do I look?"

Lady2 = "Hmmm...It's ok." - which means You dont look good.

Me: "Mexican?"

Mags: "Hell no!"

Me: "Chinese?"

Mags: "Ugg."

Me: "McDonald's?"

Mags: "No."

Me: "Then...where do you want to eat?"

Mags: "It doesn't matter."

Is the word 'no' considered rude??? Bahhhhhhhh!

Problem is, of course, it feels rude to say no. I didn't like saying no to my hubby, because he has at least some right to the inside of my mind. Saying no just locked him out. First time I did it, he was asking about a movie to rent, and he looked a little hurt. The second time, when we were discussing about something,he squinted at me. The third time we were driving by a restaurant we both like from time to time, and I said no when he asked if I wanted to grab a bite there.

At times like this, with people I love, the no just felt empty and a little incomplete. At the stoplight, he leaned over and spoke: "I think I want to be left out of this little experiment."

I dont use the word "it's okey"as a replacement for a no...

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.
