Arrrrrrrrggggghhhhh... why is it that when you ask a yes or no question, Filipinos will answer with 'it's ok?'

Would you like a drink? - It's ok

Do you want me to bring you the item you forgot? - It's ok.

Is the word 'no' considered rude??? Bahhhhhhhh!

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

It's a polite way of saying no similar to other cultures. You must learn to appreciate cultural nuances to understand other cultures. For Asians and Europeans, some American mannerisms are quite rude whereas for them it's perfectly normal. So, it's really all about understanding our differences. :)

hehehe...I know. It's just that when it's in a text message - a simple yes or no eliminates any chance of confusion and we Americans are easily confused. :jest:

LOL....yes, the 'it's up to you' doesn't necessarily mean that.

I'm more flexible when it comes to what I'll eat or drink, but I'll be up front and to the point if I like or don't like something (in a polite manner of course). Jinky is much more finicky about what she'll eat or drink, but you wouldn't know it from asking her. Drives me crazy sometimes... :jest:

Me: "Where would you like to eat?"

Mags: "I'm not bothered."

Me: "Mexican?"

Mags: "Hell no!"

Me: "Chinese?"

Mags: "Ugg."

Me: "McDonald's?"

Mags: "No."

Me: "Then...where do you want to eat?"

Mags: "It doesn't matter."

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Be strong, man! Don't take "It's okay", or "it's up to you" for answer. I keep asking the question until I get a straight answer. "Oh, I forgot" does not work either anymore. They are like children, sometimes. (As I am sure we men appear to them as well! )

Claudeth is too but instead of saying something she continually hems and haws around all the time. "Where would you like to go to dinner" "its up to you" but low and behold, when I decide she tells me she is tired of the place I selected. Grrrrrrrrrr
