ok..mi get so pissed at mi co-worker today..short story.she know har son a cheap on do girl him get pregnant..di girl find out..starts going crazy..seh she nah mek him si him chil when it born!! den mi co-worker a chat bout di gyal a start things..if she can't just be pregnant..ok #######!! see a women like she mek dem bwoy pickney act like dem ###### no stink and can treat women all sort a ways...she seh him don't want him baby modda him just want di baby ..ok wow...she knew he has been cheating on the girl.mi just affi remind her she is a woman !

i agree that the baby mother should be pissed but i don't agree with her trying to keep him from his child. despite their differences he is still the father,. the mother is another story . i guess her matter a fact behaviour might be because she might have dealt with cheating herself maybe even from her son's father and she might think that since she lived through that then maybe the girl is overreacting. it's sad but the girlfriend should find another way to deal with the man ,,not keep him from his child

I heard them speaking different to each other. No one ever clarified that it was called patois (thanx Hotlegz). I just thought it was called Jamaican. I don't know anything about the Jamaican culture. I'm sorry for not knowing. GForce just laughs at most of my questions. He said he will teach me when he gets home to me.

I guess I'll sign off now. Thanks for all your help. Leila

this is serious it's no joke..the rest of ur lives..tell him he needs to stop laughing

Is this a real poster? Seriously? I went back to catch up after I calmed down about my situation. Do you think it is the other girl that ran off...the one with the sister? Timeline fits...I think.

ok so i did my home work i check the link to catch up with unnu gossip and i see that someone is overly oblivious to what they are getting into. am i on board here or far off?

I was lost too.

I will withhold my opinion because I don't have the freedom to chat like the rest of you. I think she is serious though.

BeautifulBaby...Leila...BB...just stay in prayer. Ask your fiance' to be real and answer all your questions. You have a huge cultural gap. It is not impossible...even if others make you feel it is. There are some that were just as lost when they started...welcome to VJ and the yardie forum.

ok mi neva mean eidiat in the literal term cuz mi no knoa har..mi just hope she get wid di culture soon..mi deh fi ansa anybody question if mi can..if not mi forward dem to Jawi !!

Eeehhhnnn. I'm a little shocked at all the people making fun of her though. How many of us on here can say after the first or second trip, you really knew all about Jamaican culture and patois? Not, including our Jamaican residents. Heck, some of you still don't know it.

When I posted to the other woman to take her time...it was too harsh...it wasn't welcoming. We ran her off. But, you guys feel okay to talk about her and make jokes...sounds a little hypocritical to me. *shrug* I guess.

Again, me nuh beg friend...but oonu need fe check yuhselves.

ok here is my take. jawi it's one thing to find a site just to get a little insight but it's a whole different thing when u know absolutley nothing but still doing something that will no doubt affect your life. mind u i agree that a lot of us on here should empathize cause they were in that situation a while ago but to be honest what she knows now is sooooooooo miniscule for her to be taking on whatever she will be taking on and to have the perspective that she holds of him carrying his weight is so contrary to what she is doing because when the filing is over she will be carrying his weight for a minute and that seems to be a problem for her already even though she did acknowledge it.

ok..mi glad u no lost more wid jake :)

Okay, I am too lazy to delete out some of the posts - I agree with you Jake - but, Only the two people in the relationship and God can judge. I have a friend that dove into a relationship, and moved halfway around the world after 6 weeks of meeting - they have been married ten years and are the happiest couple I know - another couple that has been married 5 years next month after a short courtship - My sister married 18 months to the day she met her hubby - they have been married 17 years.

I think that sometimes we jump to quick to assume someone's a troll - believe it or not, there are many out there who don't know anything about the Jamaican culture - if BB is serious about this relationship, then it's up to her to research and learn - And, as fellow women, I would hope that we can be there to help that.

don't get me wrong i have not prejudge her relationship nor the direction it's going in. i am just saying that learning patois here is probably the only unmistaken truth she can get here. cause even hearing our story can only be a measuring stick not her truth

I agree with you, Jakeswife - But I think that talking to others who are in similar relationships can be a helpful thing - Because people that aren't in LDRs, or dealing with the ups and downs of immigration, esp. JA specific - aren't going to get it.

I also think there are a lot of unmistaken truths that can be learned here other than patois

I am gonna be honest with you ladies, when I first joined the thread I found that some ladies were very nice and welcoming. On the other hand some were judgemental and full of themselves. It never really bothered me because I am a Yardie born and raised so culture is not my problem. I really felt bad this poor lady just looking for a few friends and all she just got laughed at, Thats just plain wrong. A little scripture for tonight. Matthew 7:1-11

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way as you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye

*****dont hate me its just my opinion*****

I was quoting from above - I interpreted it to mean that the only truth here is going to be the patois - other things might be posted as truths but they aren't
