That's good. Damien watched games all day  Are you enjoying your birthday weekend?

It's been fun, but it snowed off & on today. Dave called everytime the Steelers had a big play & teased us about how much warmer it is in JA. LOL Me & my sis went to the movies, then out to eat. We'll be in NY tomorrow for a bit.

Thanks for all the B-day wishes too.

I was reading some posts from last night, and I have another question. I see that many of us use birth control, the calendar method, and find that it is hard to have the man use condoms to prevent pregnancy. How did you address the possibility of STDs...AIDS/HIV etc? I also know that many of you have not been with your SO for a long period of time. When did you decide that you could have sexual relations without protection (condoms/female condoms)? I hope that these questions aren't too personal, or offensive. I'm just overly cautious, and curious.

Did you both get tested? Did you take his word that he was clean?

Hey Jawi, not too personal at all. Me and my SO both had HIV/STD tests done in June of this year, we were both clean. I took my results to JA when I went in July and he had his. We both read each others results and had very serious discussions about monogamy before we took it to another level and had sex without protection.

I met him in April 2007 but we didnt start getting serious until March 2008 and engaged August 2008, so we have not been together that long. This is my opinion on the whole thing and maybe I am wrong. A cheater is going to cheat weather or not they are in a LDR or sleeping with you every night. I may trust my man that is thousands of miles away more than a woman trusts her own husband who is sleeping with her every night because of his character and things he has done in the past. I am not nieve and I will never sit here and say "my man will never cheat on me", I am fully aware of the risk I am taking. I will say this I trust my man in Jamaica as my fiance just the same as if he were here as my husband and I wouldnt use condoms with my husband.

Now how many women you know use condoms with their husbands at home? Most of them should, just because he is there with you does not make it harder for him to cheat. Again, its the type of person he is. There are women whose husbands cheated on them here and gave them STDs.

It is always the right thing to be safe and use condoms with your fiance and your husbands while they are in JA, but its the same man in the USA so it just makes sense to continue to be safe when he gets here thats the right thing to do because a cheater is a cheater near or far and unfortunatly a lot of Jamaican men are just that.

*****but thats just my Opinion*****

Morning Kimmy/1luv..... so we went to church this morning just randomly drove into a church we saw it was a methodist and was like yeah methodist that sounds like a black church.........................NOT we were the only two black people in there which is not a problem, just not the kind of churchwe were use to (my regular church when the choir gets up and start singing, you just want to get out of your seat and start dancing) not so at this church. Anyway we got there around 11am we saw on the sign that it started at 10:30, we are oh we are not that late... 11:40 church was over!!!! we look at each other and was like dam that was fastest church we have every being to.

You got it Portland - I go to a methodist church. Very relaxing and done in an hour!! However they were talking about a gospel church about an hour away from me that has you on your toes dancing the whole time and it is so packed it standing room only. I'm gonna find dat church!

Mornng all!

Honestly Rox...my jaw dropped when I read the posts. I'm certainly not trying to judge anyone or their intimate relationship. However, I am the same way...I have known A for over 4 years. We talked in detail about any STD histories...I don't care if it was cured or cleared up. We both got tested, and shared our results. A has been tested several times...and I get tested every year for STDs and HIV/AIDS. We just started foregoing condoms recently. I usually bring bags full on my trips.

My doctor told me that I did not need to be tested so much unless I had a high risk lifestyle. I told him that I don't live a high risk lifestyle, however, I am in a LDR with a HUMAN. I trust A completely, but I'm also logical enough to understand that things can happen...not that I condone it. I have never had an STD (PRAISE GOD in Heaven)...and I alone am responsible for my sexual health.

A loves the fact that I take so much pride in our health and well being. He said that he has never been with a woman that really stood by the use of condoms or being tested. Most women are okay with just the man's word and vice versa.

We have both been tested and retested - But still use condoms - I am open about the fact that I have an IUD - but I got pregnant on the pill when the condom broke - So I am taking no chances - at least two methods till I am ready, cause mi fertile, lol! I trust DJ - but, I have trusted before and been burned - I watched one of my best friends die from AIDs when we were 18 - He was a hemopheliac and got it from a blood transfusion, back in the day when it was the "gay" disease, and treatment was far worse than it is today. Seeing his life was enough to make me be sure to protect mine -

HELL I BUY CONDOMS LIKE I BUY TAMPONS

   I am sure that the airport security was confused by my bag last trip - since Auntie flo was with me, I had equal amounts of tampons and condoms!

Hey ladies! How are you all. I haven't caught up so forgive me. I have a quick question. My girlfriend of over 15 years was telling me that she could never marry a man that wasn't the bread winner in the household. She wants a man that makes more money than her, regardless of love.

I know that a lot of us deal with the fact that our SO make less money than we do, at least in the beginning. How do you deal/cope with the fact that you will have to be the primary bread winner in the family? How does your SO cope with the fact that he makes less money? I have heard that alot of Jamaican men tell stories of coming to farrin, only to find themselves being manipulated, controlled, and made sex slaves all because they do not make the same or more money. Did your SO have those types of doubts? If so, how did you overcome it? Do you think it will become a source of contention in your marriage? Why or why not?

With my first husband, he made less than me starting out as an apprentice for heating & air. But, he quickly began to match my salary. I tried to teach him how to manage his money...how to budget...how to write checks...how to manage paying bills. He was a procrastinator, and started paying bills late. So after me losing it a couple of times, he was happier just putting his entire check on the dresser for me to sort out. I HATED it because I wanted some of the daily pressure off of me. With me being a smart #######...I began to spend the entire amount...barely leaving enough for his lunch and gas money. I told him, you will figure it out the easy way with my help, or you will learn the hard way. Now, after so many years, he thanks me for teaching him how to manage his money.

Money doesn't matter to me - It's the person's ambition and pride. I don't care how much you make, as long as you make it honestly and show your pride in your work, and aren't happy just getting by - I need a person who is striving to be the best that they can be - I have dated men that have money - I definitely wasn't any happier then. I grew up in a very rich community - I saw kids who had too much and had no appreciation for life or working for something - Yes, money is nice - but it's not the deciding factor. I have always said that I would rather struggle together and live in a box, as long as we had that commitment and happiness.
