She is 7 and I have been taking her since she was 1 1/2. She doesn't really care for any of the food so most of the time we are getting her Burger King or KFC....ICK!!!!

I feel this! My kids ask all the time when can they go to JA with me, but I tell them that they would starve cuz they don't like the food and I'm not eating Burger King and KFC the whole time. I made beef stew a couple weeks ago and both my kids refused to eat it. My son took one bite and said "Mom, I'm tired of eating Jamaican food." I said beef stew is as American as apple pie!! :bonk:

I wished the mister could meet some friends, he hangs out with my friend husband but he doesn't understand when he talks and always asking him what he says, and he is so shy. I wish he would meet some friends. Just now he was using my #### to bounce his tennis balls (I was going to say to bounce his balls but I just realized that some may get the wrong idea so let me spell out what kinda balls)

LMAO.. that is cute.. I'm sure he loves the bounce back the balls are getting when he throws them

A job soon come.

lol, yeah, since it is like throwing on a wall..

LOL - I was going to say the same thing - Portland doesn't have any bounce back.

Quana, i was asking about if you worked for SSA, cause they are getting ready to do mass hiring here and im going to apply, but the application process looks a little stressful, im almost wondering are they gonna ask for a hair sample and blood sample?

lol.. well here its not hard at all,, its one of the easiest agencies to get into.. now of course they do background check, credit check, and they DO talk to ur references..there was a questionairre (sp) and they needed my resume, u have lil interview and thats it

now when i applied for immigration last year.. GIRL.. they are the ones that want the blood LOL

its a higher security clearance job so they had an FBI agent come question my neighbors, my coworkers and supervisors. questioned me about people i knew from other countries, visits I'd made, what i did, where i stayed.. i basically had the job when they required i pay on my old debts and provide proof  .. school loans and things.. i was not willing to do all that w/ my separation and just not knowing where i was w/ my income.. AND they were gonna start me w/ LESS money.. my time will come again and I will be in a better place or God has another better door opening...

Good luck w/ the job GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

Wakey - great questions and lots of good advice.

My issue is the opposite...hubby rarely leaves the house without me. I move...he moves. In 4 years, he has met lots of friends but won't accept any invitations. I always encourage him to go out. The only true friend he had moved to NY two years ago. He finally met two guys recently who he likes to hang out but I still have to push him outta the door. I have to plan "play dates" sometimes to keep my sanity. Hopefully, he'll go hang with the fellas more.

Sounds crazy

this is what i am afraid of  .. dang shemmy.. i am getting scared with all these similarites  .. u work for the gubment too right?? which agency..

You know once I typed it ..2 times per month it does sound like I'm putting a collar and leash on him :) I never want to do that. I just think I need to find my own stuff outside of work to do with friends again. When he was in Ja I would rush home to get on our nightly phone call and I guess I let alot of my friendships slip and haven't found a way to get back in them. Plus I've changed how I think on many things like how I want to hang out now..So I guess I should communicate that with my friends and start there.

u know what ..there's the ITCH!!! so many times, WE women can cut off our lives and pour our heart into a relationship and its not healthy.. we should be fulfilled in EVERY area.. and maybe u don't want to go out clubbing or what not, BUT if u feel fulfilled u can say "see u later baby" and not even think about hubby being gone..cuz now u can do some WAKEY stuff..

when my hubby would go over to his family or whatever.. i might put in a good romance movie that i wouldn't watch w/ him (action fanatic!), or study for my next sunday school lesson ( YES i teach sunday school LOL) , go over to a friend's house who i hadn't seen in a while..

I think this is an excellent point. We put our entire lives on hold waiting for them to get here.....waiting for phone calls, trips, etc. Then, when they get here, you might find you put all your friends on the backburner and you turn to SO more and more. When they make friends, you find yours may be gone now.

I think it's healthy for both to have friends and times apart. I agree with Sus (or Dillon....whoever said it) that if you don't know them or interact with them, it's a problem. My own husband does that....I have no idea who most of the people are who call or who he goes and hangs with.

GREAT ADVICE everyone! I didn't want to comment because without having been in that situation, I don't think I have the authority to advise on it....I won't know how I'll react to that situation until it happens to me but your answers are well thought and make sense. I worry about whether my mister will be bored and will be without friends and how I'm going to cope because I also have a pretty wide social circle (except lately I've been kind of a hermit) and if I'm off doing something, he might feel lonely....unless of course I drag him around with me everywhere which he may or may not appreciate.

Hopefully your SO takes the fact that you have a wide social circle. I've found he enjoys his friends but not as happy about me and my friends sometimes.

i might be underestimating him, but that is more of my worry too ells.. i have my friends and my social scenes.. also as a mother so of course there is always SOMETHING going on.. i get worried about RG getting lost in all of it.. and feeling "not apart"..i hope he does find a good group of friends here and finds "RG's place" in Dallas

Quan, the mister told me that on Sunday that some days he feels so lost, I know its hard on him not having a job and not doing anything and not having no friends.

:crying:

I know I started crying got him crying and I don't know what to do, I ask him if he wants to go home he said No he just wants a job.

Oh, girl. They all go through that. Both of you just hang in there.

Hi ya'll

Question: Does your credit score play a roll in the visa process?

Not one bit. Nor does your debt load. All they look at is income.
