Morning/Afternoon Yardies!

One more day and then I fly out at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow! Thanks everyone for the good wishes! I'll have pics to share when I return for sure.

I'm hoping this Valentine's Day will be much better than last year's. Who has a good (or bad) V-day story?

I'll share mine from last year.

So last Feb was my 1st trip to see my mister since our initial meeting in Nov 07. We met the one time, started talking frequently on the phone and soon I was planning a trip to go see him and meet 'for real'. It was going to be my FIRST EVER V-day actually having someone to celebrate with (have had a loooong single life) so I went & bought a few sexy nighties, some massage oil & chocolates to be prepared for a romantic evening.

That day, he took me on a horseback ride since I really enjoy that and we were having this wonderful, long ride up in the hills. He climbed a coconut tree & picked coconuts for us, we raced up hills & meandered through meadows....it was a lovely way to spend the day. The nicest Valentine's Day ever really. We were going to finish up this nice afternoon, go home and take time for some romance, and much later, head out to see Mavado in Negril. It was truly going to be a perfect Valentine's Day!

As we got closer to the return leg of our trip, the horses (as they will) started to get a little antsy. We stopped while I held his horse as he chopped some flowers (he called them 'visene') from a tree and showed me how the pretty pods held a 'water' that could be used for irritated eyes. I scooped up my 'bouquet', beeming with happiness, as he mounted his horse again. My horse was getting more jumpy with each passing minute and the mister told me to be very careful because this horse was wild and he was worried about me riding him. I had insisted that this was the horse I wanted to ride because he was a 'runner' and I am an experienced rider from back in the day...WAY back in the day! I apparently forgot how 'way back' because I had forgotten just how rusty my skills were. He tried to warn me again but I spun the horse around to get him under control and basically told my honey, "I got this...see?...don't worry!"

Finally, we reach the road, make an uneventful crossing & head back onto the property back towards the paddock. It was so close it was in viewing distance, maybe 200 yards or so. Since my horse was now trotting in place despite my attempts to reign him in, I decided to just let him gallop the last stretch home. In all my experiences, a horse loves to run back home (and get to eating!) but will stop as soon as they reach the paddock gate so there isn't much chance of a runaway horse. Next thing I know, we are at a full-tilt run back to the paddock and my honey is left eating our dust. I was enjoying it fully since it'd been so long since I'd been able to run on a horse like that. As we near the gate, suddenly I spot something that alarmed me.....the gate was OPEN! That meant that the horse would want to head straight to pasture and at this point, it was too late for me to react. Opposite of what I had anticipated, we did not stop once we reached the gate but rather, the horse made an abrupt right turn to head to pasture and I kept heading forward. I flipped over the top of the horse and landed on a pile of rocks jutting from the ground right on my lower back and pretty sure I just knocked my head somewhere too although I'm still not sure to this day where exactly. There I was, lying on my back, legs in a trench filled with water & horse piss & in pain like I haven't felt since I can remember. My first thought was, "Oh $hit, he's gonna freak out about this!" and I looked up to see him still back a ways looking in shock....he then kicked his horse into a run to get over to where I was faster. He hopped off his horse and came to me, now rolling and writhing around in pain and trying to get on my knees. He helped me to my feet but I couldn't stand up straight....we started to walk over to the shower area (all I could think of was getting the piss off of me) and I had to stop short & sit down on one of the platforms where people mount horses because everything was going white and I was afraid I was going to pass out. I sat for a few minutes and watched as he kicked the ####### out of my horse.....he was so mad at the poor thing! He then ran to get the car & take me to the hospital (I refused to go since I knew it would be pointless) as I sat by the shower and his friend tried to comfort me. We got in the car & headed home but not before I made him stop at a store and buy some ice so I could put it on my back. I medicated with loads of ibuprofen, ice & with Grandma's bush medicine to 'take out the battered blood'.

That night, I couldn't even lift my leg to get the panties that matched the lingerie on...he had to help me with virtually everything! The bed was so high I couldn't get on it either....he had to pull me on as I lifted my one leg that could still move. But injury be damned, we were STILL going to get some lovin' in! He just had to be very gentle and move my big booty over since I couldn't even scoot across the bed. It was sooooo NOT sexy! However, it's extremely funny when I can recount the tale in person and SHOW my movements....it would make a hilarious sitcom episode! So despite all my best-laid plans, it did not end up being the V-day I envisioned...and needless to say, we never made it to Mavado! I was so bummed!

So, this year, no horseback riding!

oh.. i was almost in tears last week guys, found out thurs is not final nothing, but a motion to dismiss, becuz my husband had filed b4 me, but had no REAL intention to divorce in my opinion, he never went through w/ paperwork to get a court date.. so i shall be a married woman for a while longer..

rg sent me the most uplifting email, i can't believe this man is real..i am a very confident woman if i do say so myself, BUT through his words and his eyes, i feel so much stronger, taller, more capable..

ok, ya'll know u gotta get my mushy post every once and a while..

Wakey.... i bought D a bracelet and ring that i won on BIdz, i only paid maybe 20.00 dollars total, cause i won each of my bids... i like silver so i got a nice silver bracelet and a nice silver/titanium ring.. i mailed it off in a padded mailer and put a card in the envelope, i didnt list what was in it on the customs form and made up something, that way less likelihood of it getting thiefed...LOL( hopefully)

very.. i hate being at the mercy of others , but i have to keep reminding myself, this is in Gods hands, not theirs and there are probably tons of reasons this process is not going any faster, i just can't see it yet.

it is a blessing island to be w/ someone that admires ur strength instead of resenting it, someone that knows even tho u are strong, u need a shoulder to cry on sometimes, not to be told to "buck up" .. Lets hope (for his sake ) those traits remain after 5, 10, 15 years he told me this will be his first and ONLY marriage so i guess he plans on trying

That is exactly the way I am trying to look at it - I can definitely see the good in it, because our relationship is much much stronger and we have dealt with much more together as a couple than we probably would have had it been done - because we would have filed long ago. On the other hand, there are days where I have had enough of waiting, and ready for my time - Some days I am more patient than others, it comes and goes!

Princess, your poem is beautiful - and tell your story, it is too sweet not to share.

DJ and I celebrate VDay late each year - We are usually on the phone on the day, but then do it with small things - Last year he gave me perfume and a hematite bracelet (one of my favorite stones) - I made him a CD and bought a watch -
