Anybody going to JA this June or August? I am thinking of going during ATI, or in June sometime. So sometime this summer, just wanna know if anyone else is planning a trip June-August.

we may go end of may or early june if no then july for sumfest

Oh I forgot about Sumfest! I have always missed the JA events by like one week in the past trips. I somehow never know when things are happening til after I have booked my ticket. This time I want to go for either ATI or something. I want to stay at a hotel and I want to frickin relax!!

Jamaica's Independence weekend sponsored by Appleton and RTI and is sponsored by Red Stripe....same weekend. It's in Negril...7 miles of parties. Damien prefers ATI over Sumfest now.

Yeah ATI is much bigger than Sumfest. Its also like the WHOLE town! I never went, but the Mister is from Negril and talks about it all the time.

Yeah, Florida is one of the places I'd consider living if I moved from CA. Otherwise its outta the country. I HATE the cold...serously it makes me evil.

Well I'm kinda too old so we are staying at the end of the beach. I don't wanna be in the middle of everything. In 2006, Damien was able to go to Sumfest and ATI but they keep changing the dates.

What's that suppose to mean...I say get your party on at whatever age. ATI can get out of hands sometimes. Another reason I can't stand being in the tourist areas during spring break

That's what I keep telling everyone! Cost of living is higher but at least you don't freeze your body parts off!

Yep, you can spend $400 on heating or $400 on extra rent! I'm thinking Arizona may be a good future home!

Yeah, thats true. Plus there are always deals on renting in SoCAL. Its just when you want to buy that the prices may get really steep. But.....this is def the time to buy cause these people cant even give away their homes. My gas/water bill is about $80 a month. Electric....$30 tops!

I say this all the time, but I have no idea when that will be. Now that the Mister is here, he and I save to take trips back home. So other places to go are not yet funded. We can always do like cruises and Mexico, but I really want to go to other islands, and Costa Rica and Belize and then Europe...maybe...its to dang cold there so if I never see it, I'll be good. But I do like Italy and Greece definitely. After seeing the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I love that place.

These are the number with me and Hubby in the winter. I dont have Central heat and air....which will cost you more if you do...they use far too much energy. But in the summer, I run window AC and still, those little things dont use alot of AC. Its just running on a 110V outlet.

I've never partied in JA, and I so want to this year. I really want to go with my sisters and just wild out and go dancing and playing at the beach on the trampoline...i LOVE that thing! Its soooo fun!

If I could live (and make a living) in Jamaica, I would...that's how much I love it. BUT, I feel the same way! I want to travel somewhere else. I'm dying to get back to West Africa and I really would like to go to Thailand or New Zealand.

Only the super hot parts of California need A/C....SoCal is warm but pretty temperate as far as I understand. SF NEVER needs A/C (unless you're a total wimp). In my little apartment with just me, my electric, gas & water are no more than about $45-50 a month combined! Sometimes $10 or so LESS than that!

trust me i know what you mean. I mean its vacation from your job, buts its not all fun when you go there so I get it. Thats why i am looking forward to my next trip out there.
