Working two jobs can be a great thing - until it comes to tax time - Sorry to hear, Honey - I can sympathize, think I am gonna get hit because of my OT this year.

Have you plasticked in your windows? That is a huge way to cut the heating costs -

How do you do this?

dont laugh

Dat not nice

Shrewdie, it really does work when you do the windows - I used to do it when I lived in an old house, and use the blowdryer method - it made a huge difference in the heat.

Shrewie knows I love her, I just laughed because she said not to.

(L)

Shaunsgal, how do you like the hospital setting?

i do residential social work, i was supposed to go see a client for a psych admit today, sposed to see him within 24 hours, but since i didnt go to work, im sure he will be fine, at least i know he isnt going anywhere...LOL

Island, did you feel as if you got any type of attitude or negative vibe from the interviewer? i tend to be anxious all the time anyway so i imagine i will be nervous. I will definitely go to the interview with him cause i would be a nervous wreck if i didnt. Are you going to fly back with A< or let him fly into New York by himself??

Hi Jah, I absolutely love it. I am currently going back for my MBA but I will stay in the hospital setting. I love working with the psych population and doing emergency room social work. I don't know if you can tell, but I am easily distracted/bored and it takes a heap of mess to keep me going. LOL

Love is a gift and not to be earned, therefore one should never hold any regrets for giving love regardless of the outcome...

Why????? :unsure::unsure:

Morning all. I am tired as heck becasue I took a sleeping pill last night but still went to bed late. I am going to have quite a day today. I have a 40 yo who is dying. He drank himself into liver and kidney failure and he is bleeding all over.

I hope you all have a wonderful and productive day.

Oh, Claire, I am sorry to hear that - My uncle did that - he had an esphogeal bleed - ended up 17 weeks in ICU and 7 surgeries =- but he pulled through and survived another year - it was like a gift, because we had a year of having my uncle back, and he got the time with his grandkids sober -

Good to hear about your uncle, but this guy is on his last. I am giving hime some blood products now and he is bleeding so much I am almost afraid to go in the room. I feel so bad for hi mother though. All I can do is give her a hug.

Claire..you have a heart of gold. (L)

Thanks T  I try. :innocent:

Claireat the joke you posted about the woman jumping and the men applauding

None at all - I didn't see any from any of the people at the windows. Our girl was playing with any of the little kids that were getting antsy waiting for their parents to deal with business. She would have them pick of the phone and she was chatting with them - it kept us in stitches at times. The waiting for our turn was actually a calming thing. We just sat chatting and joking (and I was giving him those pinches Shrewie ;) ) so by the time it was our turn it felt like no big deal. I think A was more nervous though cuz he did ask me at one time where do we go from here if we get denied. I said we would deal with that if we get there but I'm not thinking about it until then. Just do whatever you need to do to relax yourself (nip of Rum?) and you will be fine.

He wants me to fly with him as he has caught on that things go smoother for him when I'm with him. We went to the gambling place and they were checking everyone with the metal detector and such, but since he was with me they just shooed us in. But it will really have to depend on ticket prices. This trip cost me more than I had budgeted for because I paid for the interview again and also paid an arm and a leg to stay at Sandcastles for 3 nights. We were going to stay in Hanover but A's mom and Aunt were there for the weekend so the house was FULL. Since I didn't have a reservation or any time to search out a good deal, we just plopped ourselves there and coughed up the money.

Just thought i would share some michigan humor, someone sent this to me at work.

Michigan Winter Poem

It's winter here in Michigan

And the gentle breezes blow,

Seventy miles an hour,

At twenty five below.

Oh, how I love ole Michigan

When the snow's up to your butt.

You take a breath of winter

And your nose freezes shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around.

I could never leave my Michigan

Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

I just had this thought this morning. I have about 3-5 years before my boss retires and then I'll be hitting the job market again. I'm starting to think about what I should be doing to make myself more marketable.

TL;

Did you stay in section A all the time or did you go to Section C to wait to be interviewed?

Congratulations. You will be done before you know it. The way to look at it is that time will pass regardless of whether you go back to school or not. So you might as well be doing something you want to do with the passage of time. By the way why did you choose counseling? Your options are broader with an MSW. You can still counsel with a license and work in almost any setting. Just curious?

Island sometimes i wonder how the heck i will have the energy to go back to school but being in the social work field, i have no other options if i want to get ahead, though i have looked at even going back altogether to do something in a different field, like maybe in the medical field, like x ray tech or something like that.

We were in A the whole time (except to B for fingerprints) which threw me off. I did see a few people in Section C (I think it was that section - behind A, by the bathroom?)

I dont know really @ Shaunsgal, maybe cause in sense i feel like i spend alot of time counseling people know in my current role, when i was working foster care with the kids i had to pull from alot of skills to work with them and now im running FPE group which is family psycho ed group with my clients, my job keeps sending me to these weeklong trainings around the country and state, so i figured might as well go for broke. Hadnt thought about a MSW? might need to look into that option also.

I think I want to change fields to, but then I decide that what I really want is to just NOT WORK anymore....(sigh...)
