WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE A FILIPINA WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THE CHANCE TO MARRY AN AMERICAN LADY AND YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY OF ALL THOSE BIG EXPENSES AND NOT TO WAIT FOR SO LONG TO BE TOGETHER AND THEN EXPERIENCE THE ADJUSTING PERIOD BECAUSE YOU HAVE DIFFERENT CULTURE AND BELIEFS? I ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS TO MY HUSBAND AND THIS WHAT HE SAID " I'VE LEARNED MY LESSONS AFTER THE 2 DIVORCES I HAD" THATS SO SAD BUT IS IT TRUE?.

Seriously, I am filipina but I dont like to see topic like this.. Admit it or not, some people will get offended.. We Filipinos dont want to be generalized, dont want to be treated badly, but let us respect also others that does not want to be generalized as well. I love equality and hate prejudism...This is how racism starts. Of course some people will react and the more people will respond to this topic..

Lets just say, that we never looked for someone outside,, it is just coincidence that God gave us different person with different values in life that will understand us more.

I never questioned my husband as why he chose me, as I believe it was destiny that brought us together.

It is curious that this thread generates so much "international" scrutiny. Frankly, I have no interest in the other regional specific topics, and spend more of my focus on the off topics, K-1 filers, and the Philippines.

The question becomes, why we can't have a discussion among ourselves, without hurting the feelings of those that really have nothing to contribute to the discussion? Do the other regional areas attract the same bomb throwers? It is a public forum, yes, but why not keep it "regional"?

I am sorry you feel that only ppl who are immigrating from the Philipines or petitioning for Philipine citizens should post here......But nothing I can do about that. It's an 'open forum'....Anyone can post anywhere and I guess you will just have to deal with that fact ( or write a message to Capt Ewok and ask for the Phil forum to be locked to non-Philipine filers)-Until then- as they say "it's a free country" and all that...Sorry!!

no offense taken by u but these kind of threads usually are taken to start bashing american woman by the american men. they usually blame american woman for everything. they dont tell that the reason they are the way they are is because american men have differnt standards when it comes to an american woman. what a filipeno woman gets away with...an american woman cant and then the bashing starts.

such as if an american woman wants to help her family financially the man tells her to tell her family to get off their lazy butts and get a job...if a filipeno wants to send money to their family they are saints for it and praised. the american man wont tell u that part of the story. if the american woman wants to stay home and raise her kids she is know as a free loader, but if a filipeno woman dont work and stays at home with the kids...oh how sweet she is to want to stay at home with her kids and husband.

just telling u...we american woman are not as bad as these men say but it is them who has the double standards. im not here to bash the men here but just to set the record straight.

Now, who is bashing who? I think some American women have few misconceptions, as well, about American men, as well as Filipino women. Few American men go looking for "mail order brides". There is a stigma attatched, that never leaves, and has to be dealt with too often. Luckily, most people don't care, and the rest are just "curious".

i wasnt bashing anyone...look around vj and u will see what im talking about. are u a little sensitive about what secrets i might tell? like the ones where american men dont like paying child support because its better to let ur child suffer then to give ur ex your hard earned money. is this not the truth?

If DNA test were part of Child Suport, then a lot of the men who pay child support would not be paying. DNA test should be part of Child support

I have no interest in other regional topics either. I find it curious why people with really no ties to Philippines feel the need to post here.

Us in this forum know the Philippine culture, and I think outsiders really don't add much this forum.

I guess they are bored to come over to Philippine Section and start to look around and post....
