Good morning! Today's my hunny bunny's birthday :luv: A year ago today I cooked him a Mexican birthday dinner in Morocco, I really miss him.........

you know i did that when I was there, not for a birthday but just to cook for what i thought would be the immediate family...lol turned out to be everyone came over i had to ccok everything from scratch since they don't have like premade tortillas there  lol they still like to say inchilladas like the combination of enchilladas and insha'allah... :star:

I took my ingredients there...yeah, I had flour and corn tortillas and mexican spices, even salsa that I brought in my suitcase :P

 smarty... i spent all day as the list of attendees grew larger and larger making and pounding the tortillas by hand.

Happy Saturday Mena!!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday.

Ahmed is working today so I am doing some weekly deep cleaning. Laundry, sweeping and mopping, dusting, bathtubs and toilets. (someone has to do it)

I am sooooo proud of my daughter....I got a notice in the mail today from her college that she has been invited to join two National Honor Societies because of her Grades.

We went to see The Unborn last weekend....I thought it was good but the people in the theatre were sooooo loud that they continued to scream 5 mins after something scary happened making the rest of us miss the next part of the movie because we couldn't hear.

So I think the next scary movie will just have to wait until the DVD comes out so we can watch it in our own living room and hear it. LOL

We will go to our friends house to play a cool card game called pounce. Have any of you heard of it?

Well take care all of my Mena Friends and have a wonderful Saturday.

Cheryl

There is a mission here called San Xavier that we might go to see. It's located on

the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. Wael hasn't seen it yet. Was telling him about the missions thru Arizona and California and how beautiful they are. This one was founded around 1700.

Learn something new everyday -- there are missions in Arizona, in addition to the beautiful ones in CA. Makes sense since we are all part of Mexico/Spain before.

Have Fun!!!

Busy day today and first time I've sat down since 11am. There is NO just lazying around all day with my husband.:wacko:

I say "I'll just go foodshopping while you're at work tonight!",, and he protests, "NO. You can't carry all of those groceries in the house with your bad back!". I'm grateful but as I told him I'd rather not thing of tasks that I detest (such as food shopping) when I think of the only time we get alone together.

Anyhoo I'm grateful alhumdulilah we're together at all after such a horrendous AP and overall visa experience. I don't want to sound like one of those complainers while others are still agonizing over their distance.

*sigh* At least the house smells lemony fresh, the sink is bleached (it's white procelain), the floors are swept and polished, the books/nick nacks are dusted, dinner's marinating in the fridge and the throw blankets (I swear we have at least 12 in the living room alone!) are all smelling like a cool spring breeze.

I need an icon where the wife is exhausted flopped on the couch with her feather duster in one hand and a large iced tea in the other.
