Hi all, I have a suggestion/info to ask accordingly to anybody experience:

in March until May I will go on vacation to my country after 18 months, my husband will come with me just for few weeks, I heard by one of my international friends, who is married with an american, that before leaving USA I can call 800 # just to let them know that I leave USA & inform them that I'll be away for a while, so in that case if whatever they might need they know I'm not here, is it that right? Have you ever heard abopu that?

In the meantime I'm in my country I'll ask to a friend to check our mail while my husband & I are away, and then I won't have any problem for the remaining weeks since my husband will be back before me here in USA. I don't wanna come back earlier to the USA just because the immigration might need anything when I'm not here. At the same time I can always give my friend who checks the mail photocopies of docs in case they might need AGAIN any docs.

What have you guys done while you were in the process of receiving the 10 yr GC? You never left USA?

We have the NOA that says that we are allowed to travel & work for another year so we can actually travel along with the expired GC as we want without staying away 6 months, so what have you done? What's your best suggestion? Is it possible to call the Immigration & inform them about leaving USA for some weeks on vacation?

I hope someone can give me a good suggestion, tks to all & good luck :star:

Tks Keigwyn for yr reply, but my point is that I will be leaving in March for 2 months & I will stay for 2 months in row in my country should I contact the Immigration & let them know that I won't be here for 2 months? I'm just worried that when I'm away if they need whatever I'm not here although my husband is here, & he might do whatever insteade of me........Maybe I'm too paranoid!!!!
