Does anyone know....

For the DS-3032 forms....Who is supposed to be my foreign husbands Agent? What does an Agent mean? Can I just be the "agent?"

Thank you

There are some good nvc guides here. the "short cut" guides are really good nvc guides wether you use the short cut or not.

They are good step by step what you need to do.

Many people are saying that the I-130 is the way to go because of many good reasons and that it's only taking about 30 days more than the K-3 route but the key question is: Does that time period apply for any/ to every country????? I think not because from what I've heard in some countries(like my hubbies) there is a waiting list and it could take a long time for one to get an interview with the consulate.

What do you all think?

You are correct that scheduling the interview can be longer for some countries than others.

However, all of the marriage visas, K1, K3, and CR/1 require an interview.

So, I think that would not impact the decision to go cr/1 vs k3.

In some countries, the wait for a CR1 interview and a K3 interview are vastly different. The DR is one of those countries. Western Canada is another anomaly. These issue do get Consulate specific, so be careful making general statements.

You're right, all marriage visas do require an interview BUT you might get a quicker interview for a K-3 petition than for an I-130 petition. right?

I've noticed that a lot of people get their I-130 and I129F approvals around the same time. We had ours approved exactly the same day.

Good luck! :)

I don't think you can use a car as assets. You can have a co-sponsor (your dad.)
A car can only be used as an asset if it is a 2nd car. I cannot be used if it is your only car.

How Can I Use Assets to Qualify?

Assets may supplement income if the consular or immigration officer is convinced that the monetary value of the asset could reasonably be made available to support the sponsored immigrant and converted to cash within one year without undue harm to the sponsor or his or her family members. You may not include an automobile unless you show that you own at least one working automobile that you have not included.

I have 3 cars, I could use 2 as assets (Blue Book Value), the third could not be used as an asset.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
