HVP vaccine requirement for women under 26???

Hi,

I saw on the requirements for the vaccines to get the visa that HVP was one of them, for women under 26.

That vaccine is done over a period of 6 months, so I probably won't have time to do all the shots before my visa would be issued.

Do you know if it's a problem? Or if I could do as many shots as possible before, and then the rest when I'm in the US?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Just need to get the first one at the medical interview. From what I have read on here, they assume you will do the rest of the series.

I'll try to do the first one within the next couple of days here, if they do it.

So it's one less shot to do during the medical exam!...

My Fiancee had to have 4 shots during the medical exam 2 in each arm, her arms hurt for a week. The HPV shot was expensive, almost 5000 baht in Thailand, that is about 150 USD.

Awch... yeah I know it's a really expensive vaccine. But I think my insurance will cover it. I hope so.

I'm not having it in the UK.

More expensive than in the US, plus I simply don't want it; it's only needed for AOS and hopefully there'll be a way to refuse it by then; if not, I'll do it in the US.

We had no choice in Thailand, the embassy requires all the vaccines to be done prior to interview.

If you are married, you have to take them there, but if it's a fiance visa, you can get them here. Your choice

Not to spark debate here, but the HPV vaccine is a really bad vaccine. Merk has covered up a lot of negative reactions with it. I would do all you can to get out of taking it. Thankfully my fiance is over 26....

I know that and was even told by my health service but unfortunately we don't really have a choice.

Have your normal doctor write a letter stating something like you have a had severe immune reactions in the past to certain vaccines and advises against it. Bring that to your medical with your other vaccines records.

No I don't think so, I don't fancy lying at my medical. And what sort of doctor lies for their patient anyway?

Sorry, I wasn’t advocating lying on your medical exam, but rather if you have concerns about a vaccine, discuss this prior to you medical with your normal health provider.

If they agree that a certain vaccine would not be advisable, have your normal doctor document that recommendation and take that with you to present to the medical exam doctor. I would hope that advice from a doctor who has been treating you for some time would carry some weight in the eyes of the doctor doing the medical, who has never even seen you before and doesn’t know your history.

I (and my fiance) are very much against certain vaccines and I would try all LEGAL means to avoid them or reduce them. It is ultimately up to the medical examiner and they have the right to check the box that says a certain vaccine is not recommended or is contradicted.
