when do you send in packet 3, and packet 4?

I am not sure how your embassy works. I would think that it would be a bit risky to have the medical not be associated with the correct file number from NVC. Otherwise, the embassy might get the results before they even have a clue that this is coming, and then what are they supposed to do with them??

Call NVC and see if you can't get a DOS case number for him to provide tomorrow (That's only in a couple hours, isn't it?)

Call this # 1-202-663-1225, there are a bunch of menu options that you are forced to listen to before you can speak to an operator, and at last press 0 to speak with a visa specialist. I called DOS to find out if VAC had sent out an (Packet 4) interview letter, now I am just waiting patiently for the mail to come!LOL! Also found out the interview date.

I just called the DOS and we don't have a case number yet. Does the doctor send them directly to the embassy? I thought the fiance got submitted the medical exam with his/her package.

Oh. I think you should be OK.

I checked out the embassy info page, and you're right...

With London, it's different. They send them straight on to the Embassy. So that's where the disconnect is.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid this group isn't going to be much help for the remainder of your K1 journey (at least as far as information goes). Each embassy is different. :( We're still here to cheer everyone on as they progress, though!!

Your welcome! *The pressure is on* LOL. I hear its the easiest part of the whole process if you have your documents in order and everything accounted for. I will be doing it a bit backwards though because my interview is on a Tuesday and my medical won't be until Wednesday, so at the earliest I can't submit the results until after 2 on Wednesday.

I'm so jealous of all of you with your interview dates! Still nothing. I think I am gonna call DOS tomorrow and try and figure out if the embassy has everything they need to schedule it, and see if they have the medical stuff yet.

Nevermind that! Interview on 5/19 at 8:30 am! yea!

Anyone who has Packet 4...was there anything about the medical included? When I asked if London had the medical results, DOS said something would be included with Packet 4 regarding that..so, now, I am nervous that something went wrong?

Laura, I wouldn't worry too much. Nik thinks that he didn't pass his medical - they gave him a sheet to take to his GP for follow up (Not a huge deal). The GP signs it and faxes it back to Knightsbridge.

If your guy didn't get anything, I think he probably passed.

Hang in there Jodi-- it's not even mid-week yet. We're all crossing our fingers that your is approved this week!!

The good thing is once it's approved, everything moves much more quickly. Our was approved April 22, and yesterday (5/4) we got our packet 3 from the US Consulate in Sydney. We are most of the way through all of the forms. Andrew applied for the Police check 2 weeks ago, already had his medical.... we did it in advance, and now we'll provide the doc our case number. So I am sending him all of my stuff today -- 4 folders worth of stuff. He'll add all of his stuff and we'll send it off by sometime next week. His doctor, who does these medical exams for visas all the time, said that there is no wait for an interview date and we should hear back from them in less than 2 wks after we send in Packet 3. So..... basically, once you get approved, it's pretty much smooth sailing!

We're now fully planning on the Aug 14th wedding date! Hope everything continues to move along so quickly!!

Cheers,

Annie

My guess is that they aren't updating online, and sending NOA2s out to be discovered in the mailbox! It took a week for me to recieve mine after the approval...although mine was updated online. But if it hadn't been, I wouldn't have known about the approval til a week later! So yours might be on the way!

I think the CSC mystery has been solved -- aparently the H1B visas (skilled worker) the application start date was April 7, so CSC basically hit a brick wall as those get processed before family (our) visas. Thankfully, those things are capped, and they should start moving again on their regular visas soon! Hopefully they continue their earlier trend of cleaning up the older applications before they move on further!
