my check was cashed today! can anyone tell me how many numbers the case number is?? the back is hard to read...

Congrats! our check is probably in that same bundle somewhere! Our case number started off as WAC...then has 10 numbers after it!

On the back side of your check...there has been people that haven't gotten case numbers on the back of their check and have had to wait for NOA1. It might just be bank transit numbers...but I am hoping not for you!

I am not sure myself because my the check will be cashed in my fiance's bank account I am just going on what I have seen from other people. Don't worry you will get your NOA1 soon if its not on the back!

aww my bank couldn't read it either. the NOA1 is getting sent to my parents house cuz I didn't want to use my school address since I am graduating in March and I doubt this is going to be finished by then..so just have to wait for my mom to get home and get the mail and hopefully it'll be there!

I'm hoping to get it by tomorrow..but who knows Unfortunately its going to my parents house, because I didn't want to give USCIS my school address since I will only be here until March, and my parents house is my permanent residence. That means I have to constantly call my mom and check on the mail haha.

i think i figured it out thanks to a couple websites which explained how the case number is made up, im pretty sure i figured it out!

just recieved my noa1 in the mail today, with two dates on it..one was january 15, and one was january 16. when i registered the number online, it says it was recieved jan 15. so is this my noa1 date? also, i had a touch today....the first one i've seen, since i just registered it today. why would they touch it so early? obviously i know its not going to get approved for a long time haha but thats why im wondering..

On the NOA there's a received date and a notice date. The notice date is your NOA1 date

A touch basically means someone "touched" your file. Each file gets a barcode, and everytime the file moves somewhere, it gets scanned into the system. Our file got "touched" too, 2 days after the NOA1 date, my guess is that it's just a sign that they put the file into the waiting line..
