Yeah it is silly that K-1's are not automated at NVC, its not really stated on VJ anywhere in the guides as far as I could see, but just browse around the NVC sub-forum.

Did NVC give you your VAC#? or did you have to cal DOS?? I am not really excited about having to complete medical and interview all in one shot because the only doctor left in western canada to do the medicals is in Vancouver and costs $350!! Thank goodness my cousin lives in Burnaby, or else it would be 3 nights hotel AND a flight to Vancouver!! Did I mention I have a wedding and AOS to pay for? LOL.

So Laura, have you confirmed that NVC has your case by talking to them directly? Has it already been forwarded on?

NVC does not have my case yet, unfortunately. It seems to be taking around 1 1/2 to 2 weeks for them to get cases lately, so I am going to hold off calling until next Monday. But yes, you have to talk to them directly. When you call NVC, press 1 for english and then 5 for an operator and just wait.

Has anyone heard that their case is at NVC yet? Just wondering what dates have gotten there already!

ETA: Oh! I just saw your NOA2 is 3/18....you should try calling and see if it is there yet...let us know! I know that some 3/17 NOA2s have gotten to NVC, so yours could be there..

I also am waiting for my letter from NVC and just called them at (603) 334-0700, talked to an operator and our case is not there yet. My NOA 2 was 3/19 so I'm not sure why it's not there. I pray it's not lost in the mail. Some people have their NVC within 2 days and mine is already 12 and it's still not there.

The operator said it normally takes 2-4 weeks and up to 90 days. Oh my gosh. I pray they will get it soon. I might call them everyday. The line is constantly busy so you need to use redial non-stop. Good luck to all...

has anyone RECENTLY had it get there in 2 days? I mean, since all those approvals happened so fast? Since that, it seems that the petitions get to NVC much slower. I was told the same thing when I called NVC. However, they have always said that I believe, and it clearly was not true. If I were you, I'd start calling at night, so you are allowing the full time that day for the petition to get there. Don't worry too much, I am sure it'll be there soon!

Hi Everyone.. well, glad we are all in this together. When I said earlier that it seemed that many people got their NVC letters very quickly, it's because when I've STUDIED people's timelines, it looks like their NVC letter "recieved and then sent" seem very close to the NOA 2 date.

But now I'm wondering if they actually got the letter much later but then fill in the timeline with the appropriate dates (which when you look on the letter are much earlier?) For instance, I got my NOA2 on March 24th but it was dated March 19th so my timeline says March 19th. So, I'm wondering if the people who fill in their timelines are entering those NVC dates that they see on thier form, but actually they received the letter in the mail much later? Does anyone follow me?

I saw that one person didn't even get their NVC until after Package 3 was sent. I was under the impression that we need a NVC number BEFORE it goes to the consulate.

And SteveandShannon, did you call the NVC and they still said they had no record of your account after you had gotten the letter?

Thanks!

Jayme

Did NVC give you your VAC#? or did you have to cal DOS??

The VAC# is on the form they send you to notify you of the I-129F receipt at NVC. That's what I got in my mailbox today. I've never actually spoken to anybody at NVC. I don't think that my packet has actually left NVC yet, but I really have no idea and may call tomorrow to see about this. The letter says "in the next 10 days..." they will send it to the consulate in Vancouver.

Minnew, I hear you about the $ pit that is the K-1/AOS process. At every turn, a couple hundred USD. Shannon wasn't able to complete all her vaccinations today, so she'll have to hit the Travel Medical Clinic in Vancouver in conjunction with her medical. I can hear the sound of cash registers already... Pink Floyd's guitar riff... Ugh.

And SteveandShannon, did you call the NVC and they still said they had no record of your account after you had gotten the letter?

So I didn't realize until today that K1s aren't put into the automated system, probably since they don't spend much time at NVC, but that's all I was using to check the status, so I had no idea that they'd received it until I checked my mailbox this evening. It was 7 days exactly since I'd gotten my NOA2 via USPS...

Did I mention I have a wedding and AOS to pay for? LOL.

Exactly what went across my mind a couple of weeks ago...oh man, ya the expense of a wedding!!!

I didn't get a chance to call this morning, but I will definitely call tomorrow morning. Since others have gotten the NVC notice I should be getting my soon. Of course mail from NH takes 6-8 business days to get to Hawaii, so I am always late in getting my mail.

So....any luck tracking? I'm not sure those tracking tips help when the day before is a Sunday...

Yes, I finally broke down and called NVC a couple days earlier than I said I would. I'm a little surprised that I managed to hold out a whole 2 weeks after it was mailed out from CSC though. Same story as Andrea though, received March 27 (Friday) and sent out March 30 (Monday). However, I read somewhere that sometimes they say on the phone it was sent out when it's really stuck in AP, so I'll believe it when I see the mailed hard copy (Will start looking for that at the end of the week)... But she gave me an LND#, so medical can be scheduled etc.

Tehehe haven't tracked the DHL yet, but that reminds me...LOL... When I called NVC I got a VAC# so I am assuming it was sent to Vancouver! I wish I could schedule my medical :( , that all depends on the interview date *grumbles* !! We still haven't got the hard copy in the mail from NVC that says its been received, hopefully tomorrow.

I think we are in the same group. Same exact dates. I called them today and this is what they said NVC received March 24th, sent to the Vancouver Consulate on March 30th. I think they send things out once a week?

I got the VAC case number. Yeah!!!

So how long for the dog sled team to deliver from New Hampshire to Vancouver?

What makes someone go in AP at either NVC or Embassy if they didn't get stuck at CSC?

The NVC checks different databases is my understanding....some people get hooked, others don't...

Also, the letter from the NVC arrived today saying it was received and sent on to London. Not much later than it was received...and right on the day that I had predicted that I would hear from them. Darn impatience!
