Speaking to the Washington Post, Obama gives an account of his family "field trip" to the Lincoln Memorial where there is an inscribed copy of the 16th President's famous Second Inaugural speech. At this point, Obama's 7 year-old daughter Sasha asked her father if he would be giving a similar speech. Obama describes the interaction to the Post:

"And I said, 'Well, actually, that's a short version, but yeah, I will,' " Obama recalled. "And then Malia says, 'First African American president -- it better be good.' "So I just want you to know the pressures I'm under here from my children.

I'm sure Obama has a nice family and all - but I really don't care to hear about that.

What about the personal foibles of the Royal Family?

I don't follow that either to be honest.

But its irrelevant really. The Royal Family serve their purpose (such as it is). Its not like they have any actual power.

People elected Obama to fix the country, not to listen to anecdotes about his family.

I'm glad I voted for Obama, but for our next black president, I'm voting for Apollo Creed:

Edited to add: Why don't presidents rock mustaches anymore? No other country would dare #### with us if our president had a mustache.

Nobody f*cks with a guy who has a mustache, those guys mean fvckin' business.

Perhaps its a cultural difference. We've had a tradition of sentimentalism with the First Family for a very long time.

I dunno - I find this stuff rather sleazy to be honest.

Can't say I heard too many positive stories about Bush's daughters. Even one the weddings was trashed in the news. You must be referring to younger White House kiddies.
