This would be strange: i was married to a man living in USA two years ago. Arranged family marriage couldnt workout well. I dont want to live with him, at the same time i cant divorce him due to FAMILY CONSTRAINTS. Cant even let it known that i dont want to live with him. Can anyone suggest me how to get a visa denied in interview without having a blame on me that i did it purposefully? Your help would be an act of charity please.

Im so sorry that you are in this situation. Be honest at the interview, that should get the result you want

(F)

Good Luck

I just wanted to add... will your family persue another avenue if it is denied? Will they fight a denial or request for further proof ect or just say..oh well, it didnt work?

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am very sorry to hear this. Don't run around the bushes as you might find yourself in deeper problems. If your marriage with this person has not deepen further; then makes sense to convince your family members for a better alternative.

I am sure they dont want to spend too much money into getting you in USA and then suffer the consequences of a bad marriage which might land up worse. At the same time, initiate the talk with your spouse and get it out on the table.

In terms of advise; I agree with others. Just inform the interviewer. However he might have to file for cancellation and definitely get the (divorce - null marriage) papers to keep everything clean. You dont want to loose your next chance if any with any US citizen.

Best of luck.

A fight or protest of denial to the consulate is not possible... they cannot force someone to accept a visa, all the OP needs do is go to the interview and tell the CO, "I don't want it. "

Local family ramifications need be considered

YMMV

This is always a hard one. Best thing would be go to him, beg him to let you go back to your family, or you both be miserable in foreign land alone together. Or come here and seek total reedom and choice. this means sticking int out awhile. and learning to suffice on your own. Staying there make alot of anger between families there. Did your family deny you the Islamic right to refuse the other families marriage offer.??? You also can still do your duty , forget the boyfriend that you think you love and go on with your adult life. All marriage ends in duty and commitment. wether love marriage or arrange marriage. ALL SHOULD BE YOUR CHOICE THOUGH!!

To the original poster:

Sorry to hear this! In your case maybe you'll get lucky and if you tell the truth they will just cancel the process for you. It is ashame you can't work it out with your spouse. If I were you I would just be honest because from my experience dealing with families and arranged marriages-things can get pretty sticky if you do not come clean. For instance the spouse may try to come live over there with you. Did you ever think of that? Also, processing visas is costly why put anyone through the financial stress for nothing!?!? Good luck and you'll be in my prayers!

I hope you know that i dont mean "fight" the consulate.

The family ramifications are what i was thinking of. Ie-if they persue it, they will find out she said in the interview "i dont want this"

This is definately a delicate situation.

I have gone through all the posts and am virtually confused. confused about the solution not my husband as i would try to put what a man he is in few words and i guess that would suffice. He is a man who can say any time and about anything that he has said a 100 times : i never said this, i never did this or i dont even know what you are talking about. Now u can immagine the cunnigness i guess. The problem is that he is bent upon getting me to US. His idea of revenge for knowing his personality may be dangerous for me because his father has been beating his mother brutally. I desperately want to get out of it without being blamed for anything. Families and talking wont change him as far his personality is concerned, not that i havent tried. The only way for me to remain safe is that i stay in Pakistan and live my life without getting into the riddles of divorce. Please suggest me any concrete solution. its an SOS please.
