I am also very disturbed that the England Danno knew oh so many years ago is, well, gone.

But England is a better country for it, right?

I'll make it very clear for you, the England Danno knew so well never existed.

The England I know is from popular TV of the 1950's, 60's, and 70's that made its way to America. I liked it.

The England of late I see on TV sucks. America is well on its way too.

And America isn't better for it either.

Interestingly enough, UK tv at that time was mostly produced by the very 'liberal' BBC - but it didn't really have much to do with reality in the same way that tv has very little to do with reality today. Unless you count Eastenders, which is painfully realistic, depressingly so

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well, if you base your life by what you see on tv, what can I say?

I don't base my life on TV, but I never lost anything in England either. No reason to go there. I did make a short stopover at London Gatwick Airport on my way to Belorussia 15 years ago and never left the airport terminal. Airports all over the Europe look the same to me, so I really have no hands on impression of England.

I would like to go to Scotland before I die. I have a Scottish surname, but my dad's family has lived in America since the 18th century. I visited my mom's people in Belorussia, so why not see what Scotland is all about.

Its a good thing I don't judge places by the yardstick of light entertainment television.

The conclusions I could jump to...

I don't know, I think I would quite like the California of Columbo, Quincy and Rockford with a sprinkling of Perry Mason for good measure :)

I lost a bunch of keys, a camera and a saddle - welll that latter were stolen but I definitely lost the former.

That is a slang American term that means my life has been just as fulfilling without ever experiencing England.
