I was told the NVC is done scheduling for February, so for those who get scheduled for March let's gather, so we know when they start scheduling. I don't have a date yet, but my completion date was Dec 1, 2008... so I am hoping I will get a March date.

Just called NVC. the operator said , they are still scheduling and asked to call back Next week.

Hey VJers!

Phew...so finally after having screwed up couple of weeks in the process because of some confusion, I finally mailed the DS230 And AOS packets today (overnight). Now I have a questions, couple actually. How long will they take to complete the case? And secondly, what is our interview date look like according to you guys, since you all know waaaaaaaaaay more than me. :) Are they gonna schedule us for March or April? To me personally, I can wait till April as well, it is not that far away, only couple of months (but certainly an "engagement-anniversary-gift' would be nice before the 15th of March. Would love that. And btw, our consulate/embassy is in Nairobi, Kenya. Anyone else with the same? Help me brothers and sisters with your ideas so I can get an idea of what to expect and when to expect.

Once again, thank you soo much for this website. Honestly, you have no idea how much I have learned and benefitted from this place. Thank you and God bless you all.

peace.

If you do not get an RFE, You should probably get a case complete sometime next week. You will not be considered for a March interview as the NVC will be done scheduling for March by 2/13/2009. They will most likely schedule you for April during the second week of March.

Kind of figured. Thank you. I did not send them any of the documents required for the DS230 because of the situation in Somalia, most of those (except the marriage certificate because the wedding took place in Kenya) docs were lost or never existed. I don't recall Somali govs. keeping track of such documents, I could be mistaken though. But anyway, you think that might cause problems or delay my case or (even) cause some tensions during the interview?

It might. I am not sure. If that is the case, I am sure it is a common thing. Have you inquired about it in the Country or area specific threads?

I got my interview date!!!:dance::dance: March 24!!! I am so happy! Good luck everyone!

When you are scheduled for an interview does it automatically show on the AVR? Mine is still saying 'case was completed....6 to 8 weeks bla bla bla' and I wonder if I should bother trying to get through to an operator. I will probably call first thing tomorrow AM when it is less busy.

I would guess yes, but for some reason, my case never showed up on the AVR, it always said they had no record of us. I always had to speak with an operator.
