This site is great! I just found it today and i am already to start throwing out questions.

I am filling out the I-485 this weekend. I got married with my spouse last week. She entered on the Visa Waiver. Should she use my name now on the application or should she continue to use her maiden name? Also, even though she has been staying here at my address, should I use her address in her foreign country as her last address when it asks address of the last 5 years? :help:

Also, I want to use my employment address to receive all of the notifications because we will move from this place this year, but I can't find any part of the form where you can request a different mailing address than the residential address.

3/21/06 entered US on tourist Visa

6/8/06 Married

6/17/06 Mailed I-130 Petition, I-485 Adjustment of Status

hi & Welcome!

I strongly suggest that you slow down for a week or so and make sure you get all the parts together. Your post indicates that you may not have found all of the instructions for helping your wife Adjust Status.

Make sure you have read here: http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/legpermres.htm AND that you find the info there on adding the I-130 to your filing.

If your wife is changing her last name, her AOS application is a good place to start; it's ok if her ID doesn't match--the marriage certificate is the bridge between the two.

Read all the questions very carefully for what they actually ask and answer the Q that is asked.

Check the Guides here at VJ (blue tab, top of the page) and finally, do read the threads that are in the Adjustment of Status forum for valuable tips.

PS: the mailing address idea is a great one. When you've checked out the other forms, you should find the answer to your question about it.

:)
