Well, we were a K1 and had a pretty straight-forward case through Casa. But we're happily married now for the past 4 months and are enjoying our new life in the U.S.!

I know you're concerned about your case. I hope that everything goes well for you. Casa is tough, but I think with enough persistence, there's a happy ending in reach for everyone!

We had the easiest time. The man asked my husband about his job and that was pretty much it. Threatened to kill him if the wasn't a good husband to me (I should send a thank you to the C.O.).

This is just speculation on my part, but I think if the fiance/spouse has a good job, it works to your advantage, especially in the cases where there are other so-called red flags. I think it can add credibility to the relationship because the CO may think that he/she has less of a motivation to leave their home country for fraudulent reasons (not saying this is necessarily the case but how the CO may read it). I personally don't know of any cases where a man with a professional level job did not get the visa (of course there may be cases I don't know about).

There was a friend of mine I met online that had about an 8 year difference. They actually got the visa without AR!!!

I am 9 years older than my husband and we had no problems at all, but this was almost 2 years ago now. I THINK that Casa has gotten tougher since then but at that time there were only 3 or 4 of us going through Morocco at the time so I didnt have a lot to compare it to....

We got our visa in January with no problems. I went with my husband for his interview (of course I couldn't go in) and that afternoon he was approved. We went back the next day and got his visa. It really was easy. She asked him quite a few questions. Some things that I believe were in our favor. 1) We're both young and close in age. 2) I had visited him 4 times in one year, once with my son and stayed for almost 2 months. 3) I was outside the consulate. She asked him about all of these things and they seemed to validate our solid relationship. She never even looked at our affidavit of support - only our pictures. It was easy and good for us ;)

My husband's interview was super-easy. He was asked what my name was, how we met, how we communicate. Then the CO looked at one photo of me in my Moroccan dress with his mother, and that was it. We had to wait for 5 weeks on the security checks, but basically it was pretty easy for us.

I don't know why it was easy for us and hard for others. I am younger than my husband, and I had visited 4 times in the year prior to the interview. But who really knows?

I hope yours will be easy as well!

Our case with rather smooth, we did get a 221G for police report but for the most part it went fine and I am 11 years older than my husband.

The waiting and lack of communication makes this process very hard.

Our Casablanca experience was generally easy in terms of interveiw and approval. Just communitcating with them is extremely frustrating.

My husband had a super nice CO and they basically talked about music. He was on security checks for 2 weeks and arrived a month later.

Good Luck,

Sarah

My current husband went thru Casa past March...He had the infamous lady - immigration officer but after being extensively asked about me and our relationship, she looked only on our huge collection of e-mails (all in Spanish) and Jamal was given the standard 221g for AR...it took him exact 1 month since the interview to approval...Even with so called red flags (I am older 8 yrs, divorced and we both communicate in Spanish only) it all went well...My word of advice be prepared for anything when it goes to questions that are being asked and keep it cool and confident...Wishing you all the best.

Dorothy

Thank you all! It is nice to hear happy stories, especially the ones where the wife is much older (I'm nearly 21 years older than my husband). I was surprised and pleased to read this:

Then the CO looked at one photo of me in my Moroccan dress with his mother, and that was it.

I have one of those! Yaaah!
