Hey VJ people,

My fiance wants to contact her family in the Philippines on a regular basis. Her family doesn't have any internet access other than the internet cafe, and we've been told that an international calling card is the best way to go. Is there anyone who can offer advice on who offers the best card for this?

Thanks,

Ben

We have been using http://www.comfi.com/ Sometimes the connection is poor but many we have tried were the same.

I don't use a 'calling card' service, but I do use http://www.gorillamobile.com/, they charge 9cents/minute to landline and 15cents/minute to mobile...

Happy with their quality and been using it for over 6/months..

Mmmm for calling cards, I usually buy tipid pinoy at the gas station near my place, it's one of the few cards that are reliable. Just be aware, that they nickel and dime you on a few things, one example is if you get disconnected and make a new call, they will take out some amount in your minutes. There's a lot of cards usually been sold at asian markets or plazas and they provide around 25-40 minutes call time (this depends if it's a landline to landline or mobile to mobile). Also, LBC sells rechargable phone cards (http://www.teamlbc.com/).
